Introduction

This document is the IOX-UREADER installation guide. This document provides technical information, installation instructions, and the procedure to locate a vehicle's CAN bus.

! IMPORTANT: If an IOX-UREADER is uninstalled from a vehicle and then installed in a new one, note that it is mandatory to contact the Support team and have its Validation Date removed so the validation process of the new installation can be performed again by the Device Installation Wizard (DIW) tool.

Installation with a tachograph

IOX-UREADER allows the GO™ device to read and download real-time data from digital tachographs. This data can then be viewed and analyzed in the Geotab Tachograph Module for the MyGeotab™ platform.

! IMPORTANT: IOX-UREADER is compatible with all tachograph brands. However, the tachograph must support remote download (RDL) functionality. For further information, refer to the Remote Download (RDL) Capability section.

Key features

  1. Provides automated remote downloads of vehicle and driver information,
  2. Provides automatic driver identification that matches the individual driver with a specific vehicle and improves report accuracy on MyGeotab platform,
  3. Facilitates on-demand downloads (in accordance with the technical and legal requirements set by the European Union), and downloads preformed on regularly scheduled intervals,
  4. Sends real-time tachograph data, including driver name, driver status, and other useful information (in accordance with the technical and legal requirements set by the European Union) to your MyGeotab database, and
  5. Supports a direct connection to the vehicle CAN bus to read vehicle data without electrical contact, and prevent vehicle interference. It auto-detects polarity, baud rate and CAN bus protocol without the need for configuration. (Beta/limited functionality).

Preparing for installation

✱ NOTE: To ensure the proper communication with the device, it is strongly recommended to ensure the GO device has been assigned to the customer’s database prior to the installation.

Before installing your device, write down the identification data. You will need the following data to request support or to activate the device:

  1. uReaderFMS device serial number
  2. GO device serial number
  3. Plate, VIN, manufacturer and model of engine and chassis of vehicle
  4. Any other interesting information regarding the vehicle or the installation

Then, ensure that you have all of the following:

  1. GO9® device
  2. IOX-UREADER. The IOX-UREADER kit consists of two parts:
    1. uReaderFMS
    2. uReaderFMS

    3. IOX-NULL or HRN-TNULL

  1. HRN-URTACHO / HRN-URTACHO02-A. This harness must be requested by the Partner for projects with digital tachograph connections.

Installation instructions

✱ NOTE: Professional Installation Required — Installation of the IOX-UREADER requires the installer to have sufficient technical knowledge and expertise for mobile device installation and integration into modern vehicles, such as a Certified Geotab® Installer certification or equivalent.

! IMPORTANT: The GO device must be disconnected from the vehicle prior to installation. Following installation, you must read and follow Important Safety Information and Limitations of Use for this harness/IOX. Additionally, you must read and follow all Instructions and Warnings to prevent serious injury and/or vehicle damage.

WARNING! It is highly recommended not to create any electrical (vehicle harness modification, splices etc..) or non electrical (CAN clamp) connection between the Geotab devices (GO9 + IOX-UREADER) and the tachograph ports A and B (for example, power supply through the 3-wire harness or CAN bus connection). The Geotab Truck Solution is not designed to interface with these ports, and Geotab will not be responsible for any mechanical, electrical, or legal issues caused by a connection made to tachograph ports A and B.


WARNING! Prior to IOX-UREADER installation, read and follow the GO device installation instructions to verify any existing GO device installation is correct in preparation for IOX-UREADER installation. Incorrect installation of either the GO device and/or IOX-UREADER can result in loss of vehicle control and serious injury.

WARNING! Prior to the IOX-UREADER installation, read and follow the Important Safety Information and Limitations of Use section of this document. Always read and follow all safety information to prevent loss of vehicle control and serious injury.

WARNING! You must unplug the GO device from the OBD Port before plugging in or unplugging any IOX accessories. Failure to do so may permanently damage the GO device or the IOX.

Unplug the GO device from the vehicle and then remove the expansion Port cover on your GO device.

Plug in the 90° USB connector from the IOX into the GO device. Secure the USB connector using a cable tie. Please note that over-tightening the cable tie may damage the USB connector.

NOTE: The USB connector must be inserted in the orientation displayed in the image to the right.

Connect the eight-pin Microfit connector of IOX-NULL or HRN-TNULL into the uReaderFMS (Port-D).

Connect the six-pin Microfit connector of harness HRN-URTACHO or HRN-URTACHO02-A into the IOX-UREADER (Port-B).

Connect the red and brown connectors of HRN-URTACHO or HRN-URTACHO02-A into the tachograph as explained in the Tachograph Connections section.

Optionally, when instructed by the reseller, connect the CAN clamp to the vehicle's CAN bus as explained in the CAN Bus Clamp Installation section.

After all elements from IOX-UREADER are connected, connect the GO device and immediately start the vehicle. The GO device will enter debug mode.

Check the vehicle's dashboard to ensure that there are no errors or lights that were not illuminated prior to installation.

Navigate to myinstallpub.geotab.com to verify that the device is communicating.

  1. In the Installer information section, enter the installer’s name and company name. Select the next section.
  2. In the Device serial number section, enter the 12-digit alphanumeric serial number, located on the bottom of the device, then click Validate. Select the next section.
  3. In the Device status section, review the status of the device. The PASS status indicates the device communicated with the network in the last 24 hours. The FAIL status indicates the device has not communicated with the network in the last 24 hours. Select the next section.
  4. NOTE: If the device is not communicating, please ensure the device is installed correctly and try again.

Click Next to go to the Vehicle information section. Enter vehicle related information: Vehicle name, License Plate, VIN, Make, Model, Year, Odometer, Engine hours, Work order reference, and Installation comments. You can manually enter the Make, Model, and Year fields or tap the search icon beside VIN to auto-populate them. If you enter the Odometer value, you must select the measurement unit: Km or Miles. You can use the Work order reference field to enter the work order number. You can enter Installation comments if desired. Click Finish installation.

NOTE: For some vehicle makes and models, the auto-populate option might not be possible.

Please refer to the MyInstall User Guide for more information.

Verify that the IOX-UREADER has been installed correctly.

The IOX-UREADER device has a status LED that produces a series of blinks followed by a pause.

Ensure that the vehicle ignition is ON to check the installation status. If the LED is off, it may be due to a power problem or a device failure.

Once the ignition is on, after a few minutes, if the installation is correct, the light sequence should be:

    1. GREEN or RED, depending if the CAN clamp has been connected to the vehicle CAN bus or not.
    2. GREEN - Port-C CAN bus of tachograph is communicating.
    3. GREEN - Port-D D8 of tachograph (K-LINE) is communicating.
    4. GREEN - Connected to server.
    5. Check the Troubleshooting section if the status LED sequence is different.

    Validate the IOX-UREADER installation using the Device Installation Wizard tool at https://tools.ioxureader.com/install. The tool can also be used for troubleshooting purposes. For more information about the Device Installation Wizard, please refer to the user guide.

    Termination shunt

    The IOX-UREADER comes with a termination shunt installed in the expansion port. If you plan to install more than one IOX in a daisy chain, you must remove the shunt from each device in the line, with the exception of the last IOX connected. The shunt must remain in the last IOX, secured with a cable tie. The shunt in the last IOX ensures that the GO device detects and configures the IOX as effectively as possible.

    Remove the IOX-NULL termination shunt located on its case by cutting the zip tie and unplugging the termination.

    Connect the next daisy chain IOX device to the IOX-NULL’s USB connector.

    Here is an example using an IOX-ALERT.

    HRN-TNULL

    Remove the HRN-TNULL termination shunt located on one of its harness branches by cutting the zip tie and unplugging the shunt.

    2

    Connect the next daisy chain IOX device to the IOX-NULL’s USB connector.

    Here is another example using an IOX-ALERT.

    Secure mechanically the connection using a zip tie and cut its extra part after fastening it.

    ! IMPORTANT: The operations mentioned above must be done with the IOX-UREADER switched off.

    NOTE: Failure to install the shunt in the last IOX may affect IOX communication. To ensure that the IOX communicates, please secure the shunt with a cable tie.

    Tachograph connections

    Tachographs have four ports: A (WHITE), B (YELLOW), C (RED), and D (BROWN).

    NOTE: The four ports are polarized/keyed and will only fit into the mating receptacle as explained. Do not force fit.


    NOTE: Some tachographs are protected with a security seal that must be removed in order to proceed with the installation.

    NOTE: If installing in a Scania vehicle and the C connector (RED) is populated with wires in positions C5 and C7, and there are no wires connected to A4 and A8, see Scania Vehicles with Tachograph SRE6.x before installation.

    NOTE: If installing in a vehicle using Stoneridge SRE8.X or EFAS-4.10 tachograph and the C connector is being used by DSRC antenna, see How to connect CAN-C when it is occupied by the DSRC antenna before installation.

    ! IMPORTANT: The vehicle electronics are connected to the Tachograph by a pair of wires known as CAN-A (CAN bus), connected to the Tachograph Port-A (WHITE Connector), using the A4 and A8 pins. Never alter the connections in the A or B connectors.

    ! IMPORTANT: Do not modify the provided C connector (RED). This connection cannot be shared, and there must never be multiple connections as this can cause interferences in the vehicle CAN Bus, which could result in malfunctions.

    WARNING! If, at any point, a warning light illuminates on the vehicle dashboard or the vehicle stalls or has a marked drop in performance, shut off the engine, remove the device and contact Support. Continuing to operate a vehicle with these symptoms can cause loss of vehicle control and serious injury.

    ! IMPORTANT: After extracting the Tachograph, be very careful when leaving the tachograph hanging to avoid any cable damage.

    First connection — Real-time data

    The first connection is made to the Port-D of Tachograph, only the D8 pin (K-LINE signal) is used by IOX-UREADER.

    Follow these instructions depending on your installation use case:

    Case 1: Tachograph Port D is available

    1. Connect the brown connector on either the HRN-URTACHO or HRN-URTACHO02-A to Port D of the tachograph.

    Case 2: A brown connector is already connected to tachograph Port D and the connector’s position 8 is available

    1. Disconnect the brown connector from Port D of the tachograph.
    2. Connect the HRN-URTACHO blue wire terminal to position 8.
    3. Reconnect the brown connector to Port D of the tachograph.

    1. Disconnect the vehicle’s connector from Port D of the tachograph.
    2. Connect the HRN-URTACHO02-A brown connector to Port D of the tachograph.
    3. Connect the vehicle’s connector to the other brown connector on HRN-URTACHO02-A.

    Case 3: A brown connector is already connected to tachograph Port D and the connector’s position 8 is not available

    Using harness HRN-URTACHO
    1. Cut the blue wire terminal of HRN-URTACHO.
    2. Using a T-splice, connect this blue wire in parallel to the existing wire in Port D position 8.

    1. Disconnect the vehicle’s connector from Port D of the tachograph.
    2. Connect the brown connector on HRN-URTACHO02-A to Port D of the tachograph.
    3. Connect the vehicle’s connector to the other brown connector on HRN-URTACHO02-A.



    Second connection — Remote download

    The second connection is made to the CAN bus Port C of the tachograph. Only the C5 (CAN-H signal) and C7 pins (CAN-L signal) are used by IOX-UREADER from this port. The CAN bus Port-C of a tachograph is also known as CAN-C, CAN2 or CAN-FMS. Follow these instructions to continue with the installation:

    Case 1: Standard connection

    Connect the red connector on either the HRN-URTACHO or HRN-URTACHO02-A to Port C of the tachograph.

    If Port C is not available, or for alternative tachograph versions that require a different installation process, refer to the other installation cases listed below.

    Case 2: VDO tachographs versions 1.2 and lower

    1. Before connecting, cut the pink jumper on Connector C (red) of HRN-URTACHO or HRN-URTACHO02-A, between pins C7 and C8.
    2. If Port C of the tachograph is already being used, then disconnect that connector and leave it tidied up with the rest of the cables.
    3. Connect the red connector of HRN-URTACHO or HRN-URTACHO02-A to Port C of the tachograph.
    4. HRN-URTACHO connectors

    5. ! IMPORTANT: Do not modify the provided C connector (red). This connection cannot be shared, and there must never be multiple connections as this CAN bus causes interferences in the vehicle CAN bus, which could result in malfunctions.
    6. Once connected, switch the vehicle key contact ON and ensure that there are no errors on the vehicle dashboard.
    7. Check that all connectors are firmly inserted before placing the tachograph back in its original position.

    Case 3: Scania vehicles that had or have an SR6.x tachograph

    This is a special case for all Scania vehicles which previously had or currently have a Stoneridge 6.x tachograph. Usually in those installations, tachographs have been or will be replaced with a newer model without modifying the electrical installation.

    First, check the connectors A and C. This operation only applies if the vehicle is a Scania with a Stoneridge tachograph with the vehicle CAN bus connected to Port-C of the tachograph. This situation is easy to diagnose as there are no wires connected to A4 and A8. Before connecting the HRN-URTACHO or HRN-URTACHO02-A, make the following modifications as instructed in Stoneridge information bulletin NT2009/012:

    1. Remove wires from connector C (red).
    2. Remove the C7 and C8 jumpers.
    3. Remove the wire in C5 and place it in A4.
    4. Remove the wire in C7 and place it in A8.
    5. HRN-URTACHO red and white connectors

    6. Reconnect connector A (white) to the tachograph and continue with the installation.
    7. If you are replacing the tachograph with a more modern one, configure the tachograph as indicated by the manufacturer. If you are not replacing the tachograph, configure the tachograph using a diagnosis tool. Check the following parameters:
      1. Ilum.Input (0xFD15): 0 Disabled, 1 CAN, 2 A2. In case of doubt use 0, but do not use option 1.
      2. CAN bus Activ (0xFD1E): 1 Activated.
      3. CAN termination (0xFD5B): Activated if C7 and C8 are jumpered.

    Case 4: tachograph Port-C is occupied by the DSRC antenna

    Some Stoneridge SRE8.X and EFAS-4.10 have the DSRC antenna connected to Port-C of the tachograph instead of Port-A of the tachograph.

    There are different ways to detect if this is the case:

    1. Sometimes, there is a T-Harness connected to Port-C of the tachograph. In this case, the T-Harness is connected to the FMS vehicle CAN bus and DSRC antenna. This doesn’t always happen.

    1. In all cases, if the current C-Connector (red) is disconnected from Port-C of the tachograph, the tachograph will show this error on screen: Remote detection failure in Stoneridge and DSRC fault in EFAS.

    Required changes:

    Using the harness HRN-URTACHO

    Installation will be done in parallel with DSRC wires.

    1. Keep the original DSRC antenna connector.
    2. Cut the red connector from HRN-URTACHO.
    3. Using a T-splice, make the following connections:
      1. Connect the HRN-URTACHO yellow wire (CAN-H) to the C5 Connector wire of the DSRC antenna.
      2. Connect the HRN-URTACHO green (CAN-L) wire to the C7 connector wire of the DSRC.
    4. The bridge wire between C7 and C8 must be opened. If it exists, cut it.

    Using the harness HRN-URTACHO02-A
    1. Disconnect the vehicle’s connector from the Port C of the tachograph.
    2. Connect the red connector on HRN-URTACHO02-A to Port C of the tachograph.
    3. Cut the HRN-URTACHO02-A bridge wire between C7 and C8.
    4. Connect the vehicle’s DSRC antenna connector to the other red connector of HRN-URTACHO02-A.

    Case 5: VDO tachographs versions 1.3 or greater

    For some VDO tachographs you will need additional parts:

    1. VDO DTCO Update Card (client supplied)

    1. Frontal connection Harness HRN-CL01S2 (C309).

    Installation process:

    1. Enable Frontal Remote Download with the DTCO Update Card.
    2. Connect HRN-CL01S2 (C309) to the VDO Frontal Port.
    3. VDO frontal port

    4. Connect Harness HRN-CL01S2 (C309) to connector D (brown) of the HRN-URTACHO or HRN-URTACHO02-A.

    CAN bus clamp installation

    The IOX-UREADER allows a connection to the vehicle CAN bus using a capacitive clamp to read vehicle data without electrical contact, thereby preventing vehicle interference and not voiding the manufacturer's warranty. It automatically detects polarity, baud rate, and CAN bus protocol. No configuration is required.

    Locate the CAN bus in the vehicle, find the appropriate wires, and then run them through the inside of the CAN clamp as shown below. Hold the wires over the CAN clamp and close it.

    ✱ NOTE: When planning to install the CAN Clamp on a vehicle for which the GO device has no support, a 3-wire harness (HRN-CW03S3) must be used to install the GO device, otherwise GO device source priorities may not make use of the engine data from IOX-UREADER. If the GO device supports some data and the IOX-UREADER is being used to complement it, then a 3-wire harness is not needed.

    NOTE: The position of the wires does not matter, they can be placed in any order and the CAN clamp automatically detects the polarity.

    ! IMPORTANT: Do not connect the clamp to any wires from the CAN bus CAN-A (pin A4 and A8) of the tachograph, as most of the parameters are not received in this location.

    ! IMPORTANT: The CAN clamp can be reused by opening it with a screwdriver. Reusing the clamp too many times can damage the clamp and is not recommended.

    ! IMPORTANT: Never cut, extend or modify the vehicle CAN bus wires.

    Installation with CAN bus clamp

    If you are only installing the capacitive clamp and not connecting a tachograph, skip steps 4 and 5 of the Installation Instructions.

    You will need these parts:

    1. IOX-UREADER kit
    2. GO device
    3. HRN-CW03S3 (when GO device doesn’t support the vehicle)

    Troubleshooting

    This section guides Partners through the troubleshooting process for issues related to IOX-UREADER. This section is concerning the CAN Bus CAN clamp installation and Tachograph installation use cases.

    Identify the issue

    Before contacting Support, please identify whether the issue is hardware or application related. The issue is hardware related if there is a problem with the IOX-UREADER. The issue is application related if there is a problem with MyGeotab.

    Gather the information

    Before troubleshooting, please follow the steps below to gather all the necessary information related to the issue:

    Hardware related issues

    If the issue is hardware related, follow these steps:

    1

    Record the information of any hardware that is currently in use:

    1. GO device serial number (12 characters, visible on the device, starts with G),
    2. IOX-UREADER serial number,
    3. Tachograph model and version, and
    4. Make, model, year, and VIN of the associated vehicle.

    Check for connectivity and installation issues:

    1. Check to ensure that the device is securely mounted and installed according to Installation Instructions.
    2. Take note of IOX-UREADER status indicator blinks and refer to IOX-UREADER Troubleshooting Matrix.

    3. NOTE: Regardless of hardware issues, always make sure to check each and every connection, including harnesses and/or the IOX, if applicable. The vast majority of issues result from insecure connections.

    Application related issues

    If the issue is related to MyGeotab, please contact Support. Before doing so, record the following information:

    1. Database name,
    2. GO device serial number (12 characters, visible on the device, starts with G),
    3. IOX-UREADER serial number,
    4. Tachograph model and version, and
    5. Make, model, year and VIN of the vehicle in which the hardware is installed.

    Troubleshoot the issue

    Once basic information is collected, please refer to the IOX-UREADER Troubleshooting Matrix for more detailed troubleshooting steps. Some issues may require advanced troubleshooting. If your issue is not listed or solved with the proposed solutions, please contact Support. The IOX-UREADER device has a status LED that produces a series of blinks followed by a pause. The first blink corresponds to the first row of the matrix, the second blink corresponds to the second row, and so on. Ensure that the ignition is ON when checking the installation status. If the LED is OFF, it could be due to a power problem or a device failure. Check if the GO device LEDs are on. If so, check that the IOX-NULL or HRN-TNULL is correctly inserted. It could be a power issue with the GO device.

    NOTE: If the problem is not resolved, repeat the installation with another IOX-UREADER. If the problem persists, please contact Support.

    Receiving data

    Data is no longer being received. To troubleshoot, check to ensure that vehicle contact is on. If you have moved the CAN clamp location, restart the device.

    No data received. To troubleshoot, check to ensure that vehicle contact is on. Verify CAN clamp is connected in the correct CAN bus location.

    Tacho CAN-C (CAN2)

    Receiving data

    CAN-C communication lost. To troubleshoot, check to ensure that vehicle contact is on. Check tachograph connections.

    No communication with the Tachograph. To troubleshoot, check tachograph connections and check tachograph compatibility.

    Tacho D8 (K-LINE)

    Receiving data

    D8 communication lost. To troubleshoot, check to ensure vehicle contact is on. Check tachograph connections.

    No communication with the Tachograph. To troubleshoot, check tachograph connections.

    IOX CAN bus

    Connected to GO device

    Connected to GO device in sleep mode.

    No connection to GO device. To troubleshoot, if this persists after a few seconds, check if the GO device is awake, and its connection to the IOX-UREADER following the Instalation Instructions and Termination Shunt sections.

    ! IMPORTANT: If the problem is not resolved, repeat the installation with another IOX-UREADER. If the problem persists, please contact Support.

    Cold Chain installation

    Please consult Cold Chain Harness Compatibility prior to installation to be aware of integration products (harnesses) needed depending on the corresponding cold chain machine. Refrigeration units data can then be viewed and analyzed in the Asset Monitoring view, within the MyGeotab™ platform. Please refer to the document Asset Monitoring Solution — Implementation Guide for more information.

    Installation using an IP Box

    The IP Box is available for purchase under the product name GEO-CCIPBOX.

    In the case of an outdoor installation, The GO+IOX-UREADER assembly must be IP protected to prevent water or liquid exposure damage. In this case, an installation using the IP Box is needed.

    The IP Box is composed by four physical outputs, which are:

    1. Cable glands
      1. Thermograph connections
      2. Accessories connections (includes the CAN bus connections)
      3. OBD connection to power the GO device and IOX-UREADER as well as for ignition signal
    2. Connector
      1. Serial Bus connector (includes RS232 connections)

    Preparing for installation

    Before installing, please document your GO device and IOX-UREADER serial number. This information is needed to verify your installation.

    Ensure you have all of the following elements:

    1. IP Box assembly
    2. GO device

    Remove the 4 M4 stainless steel Phillips screws and split box enclosure exposing the internal components.

    Internal connections:

    1. Plug in the GO device into the 16 pin connector.
    2. Plug in the mini USB connector into the GO device and secure it with a cable tie.
    3. Lock the GO device into the bracket and secure it with a cable tie.

    Close the IP Box, making sure the gasket is seated correctly and the corners of the cold chain box edges are lined up. Tighten screws with a 0.34Nm torque. Place GO unit serial number sticker on the side of the IP Box.

    Using the components available in the GEO-CCIPBOX’s kit:

    1. Fuse both Constant Power and Ignition wires.
    2. Use the adequate cold chain harness to plug it into the IP box’s Chogori connector.

    In this case, the following are connected to the refrigeration unit:

      Find a mounting location for the IP Box., It can be located inside or outside the refrigerator unit compartments, but must be within three meters from the Controller Compartment.



      The two different locations are:

      1. An IP Box installed outside the refrigerator unit compartment
      2. An IP Box installed inside the refrigerator unit compartment

      Fasten the IP Box unit using the four screws available in the kit.

      NOTE: Orient the IP box such that the connected cables face downwards.

      Do not mount close to any heat sources and ensure that the mounting area does not interfere with any other components. Mounting locations may vary according to trailer type.

      An example can be to Affix it to the lower right part of the refrigeration unit, to the right or left of the unit’s water output hose, but never below the water output.

      WARNING! Use extreme caution when drilling holes in the refrigeration unit. Drilling into electrical wiring or refrigerant lines poses a risk of fire. Never drill into structural components.

      If there is a Thermograph on the installation, follow the Thermograph installation instructions.

      If there is no Thermograph on the installation, protect the loose Thermograph cable wires and root it in or near the controller compartment. Then, proceed with the installation of the IP Box depending on the refrigeration unit model or controller.

    Connection to a thermograph

    This connection is achieved using the IOX-UREADER loose wires (via the IOX-NULL or the HRN-TNULL) or the IPBox Thermograph cable gland. The loose wires are directly connected to the thermograph’s screw terminal connectors or crimped to the thermograph’s connectors. The pinout on the thermograph’s side, depends on its brand and model. For more information please refer to the Thermograph Specifications and Configurations section.

    Installation with an IP Box

    To connect the IOX-UREADER to a thermograph, use the loose wire of the Thermograph cable gland.

    Configuration

    It is necessary to configure and calibrate the sensors with the manufacturer's software:

    1. Sensor 1 needs address 101 (0x65)
    2. Sensor 2 needs address 102 (0x66)

    The calibration determines the minimum and maximum level of fuel measurement in the tank. To perform the calibration follow these steps:

    1. Remove the measuring part out of the fuel.
    2. Wait 30 to 60 seconds for the rest of the fuel to leave the tubes of the measuring part of the sensor.
    3. Measure the length of the tubes of the measuring part of the sensor L from its end to the drain hole. Measure this length in millimeters.
    4. Insert the value obtained in the field Actual length of the sensor after trimming in the section Settings-Calibration.
    5. Wait 3 to 5 seconds to stabilize the sensor indications.
    6. Calibrate the sensor:
      1. To calibrate the sensor at the minimum level, press Set Empty, completely immerse the tubes of the measuring part of the sensor in fuel, then wait 3 to 5 seconds to stabilize the sensor indications.
      2. To calibrate the sensor at maximum level, press Set Full.
    7. The calibration is finished.

    Configuration and calibration

    1. Download Omnicomm Configurator from Omnicomm’s support site.
    2. Connect the sensor to your computer using a serial to USB converter. The default baud rate is 19200.
    3. Access the configuration menu.

    Remote download (RDL) compatibility

    It is important to know if the tachographs in your fleet are compatible with the remote download system. Based on the brand of your tachographs, there are different ways to do this. The following tool is used to check the compatibility between a tachograph brand and Geotab tachograph solution : Online RDL Check Tool.

    All Stoneridge models support remote download from revision 7 (REV7).

    NOTE: To access the tachograph sticker, you must open the printer and remove the paper roll.
