Low Battery Alert Duration and General Notifications in MyGeotab

Hello Geotab Community,

I'd like to ask a quick question about the notifications shown in the assets section.

As you know, alerts like "Low battery" or "Loose installation" appear, which helps us identify small issues with a vehicle. My question is: once these issues are resolved, do the notifications disappear on their own or do they have to be dismissed manually (I know that's an option)? If they disappear on their own, how long does it take? In the case of the low battery alert, do you know why it doesn't change automatically once the battery is replaced?

Thank you in advance for your comments.

Best regards,

Hey @mrosa-1979 ,

Thank you for asking your question in our community. This is a good question! The asset card will stay present for 10 days so long as there is no follow up Low Asset Battery detected. Its meant to give customers the most amount of time to give Geotab feedback on the model. like "No geotab you were wrong" or "Geotab was correct I swapped my battery".

Its funny the message did used to say this like this screen shot. I am not sure why that changed though.unnamed (1)

Feel free to reach out if you have any follow up questions. We are happy to help.

Have a great day!

Hello Eishi,

It's always a pleasure to greet you.

Thank you for your input. Just to confirm, does that 10-day period apply to all similar notifications or only to the low battery alert?

From what I have seen it looks like that is the standard.

Hi @EishiFUN ,

If the report has been addressed and the problem resolved, but the message persists within 10 days, is there a way to manually delete it without waiting the full 10 days?

To my understanding you should be able to dismiss it for it to go away.

Still have questions?
