Putting assets in Business mode during standard work hours

Hi guys,

I'm trying to configure a rule to put assets into business mode for trip categorization purposes. The exception is triggered but the rule itself is not applied. I've set up to put it into business mode in notification tab. All trips are still marked as "uncategorized". Is there an issue because of the Restriced data mode functionality and the business/personal mode logic does not work anymore?

Thanks.

Kind regards,

Matej

Hey @Matej-1036 ,

Thank you for asking your question in our community. I see what is happening here I think there is a still a little confusion about what the rule is actually doing when that notification is enabled. The rule is working but it controls RDM (privacy mode), not Trip Categorization. Those are two separate features. To get trips auto-labeled as Business, you would need the FBT add-in or manual categorization in Drive. If you ARE manually categorizing and still seeing "Uncategorized," that could be the Drive App sync bug (ESUPSD-49063 — currently under review).

Let us know fi you have ay other questions. We are happy to help.

Have a good one!

I don't think the FBT add-in supports auto-categorisation, it's a Tax Office requirement that Business trips are manually categorised with an annotation. If it does do auto-categorisation then it could be a problem.

@EishiFUN and @TonyFC-1053 yes, it is a bit confusing because the support documents state that you can automatically assign based on working hours which is reasonably to expect. I may be wrong but such rule/feature was working before the RDM was introduced. Since the FBT is only available for Australia are there any other work-arounds or solutions?

Thank you both!
