MyGeotab - Customized rule

You would need to search the device by serial number in MyAdmin- (Devices > Device Management) - IF the device is able to read and automatically associate with the vehicle it is installed in, the VIN will show in the results. If your MyAdmin view doesn't already have a VIN column header showing, then you can click "Customize View" on the upper right and make sure VIN is checked off and the column will display. Hope this helps! Thanks!

Asset identification

Thanks, I assumed it was an automated system or AI "feature" due to the speed at which it disappeared, but I wasn't 100% sure.

Houdini at work

Eventually, I hope to provide feedback through the normal "feedback" page, but at the moment it is hard to relay detailed or technical information through that form. The plan right now is to post my suggestion in the community section, and then put the link in the feedback form so that they can see more details immediately. I will probably do that in a few days when I have some time to put everything together; I wanted to make sure that this would be a viable workaround before I spent the time + energy creating a mock-up blueprint that aligns with typical industry standards.

How/where to submit feature requests + bug reports

@DFenn-1143 Geotab has been recommending to migrate away from using Trailers and TrailerAttachment in favor of Devices and DeviceLink. Give that a shot and see if it does what you need: https://developers.geotab.com/myGeotab/apiReference/objects/DeviceLink/

Feedback: Video event map

Hi @****-6175 , thanks for the question. I couldn't find a published customer setting that makes a GO Focus Plus recording continue until the full duration of a reverse-rule event. From what you're seeing, the clip appears to use a set capture window rather than extending automatically with the event. If you need a longer clip, please open a Support request with the camera model, the rule configuration, an example event time, and the before/after recording duration you need. The team can confirm what's supported for that camera and setup. It is possible we can extend the duration but I cant make any promises. I don't have a confirmed release date for longer recordings but it is something being looked at by our team. Hope that helps! Eishi FUN

I had already switched to using pagination, but wanted get the definitive answer. So now I know. Thanks for the clarification.

It's not an iFrame, but fully integrated and looks like native MyGeotab. It's called ORIGOInspect. Please email me at clay@origosafety.com and I'll send you an invitation for a zoom meeting. I look forward to learning more about your fleet and demonstrating our solution to you. Thank you. clay@origosafety.com

Hello! Off the top, the easiest way to share live tracking information externally that comes to mind would be to utilize the asset location sharing feature directly within MyGeotab. A quick rundown on the path to follow:

1. Navigate to the Map page.

2. Find and select the desired asset/vehicle either directly on the map or from the asset list on the left-hand side.

3. Click on Share to open the link configuration menu.

4. Configure the sharing parameters (such as expiration time or tracking duration) to fit your customer's requirements.

5. Generate and copy the sharing link to share it accordingly.

I am not familiar with Shippeo, so I am unsure of its specific technical requirements or whether these generated links will work for you, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to mention it just in case you weren't already familiar. Hope this helps!
