Retrieve Speeding Events via API from MyGeotab

We have speed rules defined. How can I get events sent via an API when a speed rule is met. Is a webbook a possibility to capture the speeding event in real-time or are there better ways to collect the data and perform analysis. Overall goal is to understand the impact of driver behavior and to reduce CSA scores with-out paying a 3rd party.

Hello @DPete-1854 ,

Thank you for asking your question in our community. There is a notification on the rules to set up a web request. If that would be helpful here. If you look at the speeding rule it will either be the envelope icon or the notifications tab and under "more" there is an option to add web requests. I am not sure if this fits your needs but it was the first thing that came to mind. There is probably an API you can use also that @TuckerBA-1087  may know more about.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Have a good one!

I think webhook here is the right solution, but if you get into it and have any issues, I can help with the API request to pull the data, just let me know if you need it @DPete-1854. I'm not sure how speeding events work with webhooks since they have a duration, I assume they come in when the event ends, not when it starts, so that you have the complete event information. If it does come through at the start, that would be the only reason I could see you needing to use the API instead.
