Will battery degradation likely be lower if, like me, you charge exclusively from home via a 2.3kw 10 amp max charger, IE due to lower stresses to battery?

Hello @DStew-1999 ,

Thank you for asking your question in our community. Yes, charging exclusively from home with a lower-powered charger like a 2.3 kW (10 amp) can help reduce battery degradation compared to faster chargers. Lower charging speeds typically generate less heat, which can be a significant factor in battery wear.

Slower charging allows for a more gradual chemical reaction within the battery cells, promoting better overall health. As long as you're not frequently discharging the battery to very low levels or letting it stay at high charge levels for extended periods, your charging habits contribute to longer battery life.

We recently published a blog that addresses your questions quite thoroughly. You can find this information under the section "How do charging methods affect battery health?"
