Hey, @ESals-2238!
I think the best way to do this would be to leave those logs unassigned and annotate them to show that they have been accounted for (i.e. that they were generated during testing/prior to your adaptation of the system as an ELD for the company). At least, this is what I would recommend to anyone on an American ruleset.
I am not sure if this would be compliant under the Canadian rules, but for the US rules that is the best solution that I know of. This way an auditor can see that the logs were there and that you took the initiative to categorize and mark them appropriately.
If you decide to do this, you can use the "Bulk Edit" feature to annotate those logs all at once. Here's a quick video demonstrating how to do this:

Hope this helps! :)
Best,
Required legal bit: Please keep in mind that this is not legal advice, I am not responsible for your company's HOS compliance, and you ought to check on any of this with whatever the Canadian equivalent of the USDOT is.
Hi @ESals-2238 ,
Thank you for asking the community! Happy @Dave-1119 and @jjake-8255 were able to jump in with some great ideas.
I also wanted to add that you can contact support and request those logs to be purged for you.
Warm Regards,
Genevieve
Yes you can delete old HOS logs, Here is the states, we are only required to maintain the logs for 6 months, then we can delete/purge them from the system. So you can set up your database to what ever time frame Canada requires you to keep them then delete them automatically.
Hope this help.

Hi Dave, I understand that there is the purging functionality, however, there is a lot of unassigned vehicle activity, that we wish to get rid off, as in Canada the mandate will take effect by June 2021, so we do not need any records on the system that could mess up our reports.
Any other way, you might know about ?

@Dave-1119 @jjake-8255 Thank you for your responses, I think we will go ahead and annotate the logs as suggested. If any other ideas arise, please feel free to share.
