¡Hello!

 

A car rental customer migrated some devices to a database of another customer, so, they want to have the historical data registered during this rent in their database.

 

Is there a way to migrate historical data from a Database to another?

Always glad to see you in the Geotab Community! Here are some steps you can follow to accomplish this:

  1. Make the vehicle archived (historical) in the GO device's current database.
  2. Add the device to the new database and set the database owner for the device to the new database.
  3. Once the device begins to communicate to the new database, contact Support to request a resend.
  4. Provide Support the below information when contacting them:
    1. GO device serial number
    2. Name of the old and new database
    3. The amount of data to move (up to two months)
    4. Confirmation that the device has been added to the new database and is communicating 
  5. Wait approximately 1 business day for the data to be moved.
