Hey, @SMort-1947!

Pretty sure your best bet here would be to install GO-RUGGED devices onto your forklift. This won't give you the rich engine diagnostics of a regular GO unit installed into a vehicle, but you can still get it on a Pro plan or higher to get the accelerometer data, if that's useful to you.

Here are some resources on the GO-RUGGED:

Installation Video (YouTube)

Installation Doc (Geotab's website)

I would also recommend reaching out to your reseller to ask about your particular type of forklift and any possible integrations that Geotab may have with the manufacturer. I am not entirely certain, but if your forklift is newer and the manufacturer has telematics embedded (two big "ifs"), you may be able to use the onboard telematics within your Geotab system without the need for new hardware.

If you're unsure who your reseller is, you should be able to find their info under Support > Contact Information within your MyGeotab database.

Hope this helps get you pointed in the right direction. :)

In fact, my client wants to install a Go9 and not Go-Rugged on his forklift, can you help me with that

Ah, interesting. What is your client trying to accomplish by installing a GO9 over a GO-RUGGED?

No, my client already has his Go9. What I need to do is install the Go9 in his forklift, and I need the installation guide for this.

Well, most likely you'll need to do this with a 3-wire harness. Here's the install guide for that:

3-Wire Harness Installation Guide

But I'd recommend reaching out to your reseller or, if you are the reseller, asking your PAM if they have any other suggestions based on more details about your client's specific situation.

Hope this at least gets you pointed in the right direction. :)

Best,

Hey @SMort-1947  What kind of forklift are you trying to install the device in? We may have a different harness that we would recommend using depending on the kind you have.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Have a good one!

This model should have diagnostics available. So we potentially have a harness we could use on it. Do you happen to know what the diagnostic port on the forklift looks like? or if you can get a picture of it and share it with me that would be great.

Still have questions?
