Hello @ARodr-8155 ,
Thank you for asking your question in our community. The Geotab GO Anywhere device offers a High Frequency Mode to provide more frequent location updates for your assets. When enabled, this mode increases the update frequency to every 15 minutes while an asset is moving. However, this feature significantly impacts battery life and is automatically disabled after 72 hours to prevent excessive battery drain.
If your GO Anywhere device is not reporting properly in High Frequency Mode or has reverted to a less frequent reporting schedule, consider the following:
- Automatic Disablement: High Frequency Mode automatically turns off after 72 hours to conserve battery. You will need to re-enable it if you require continued high-frequency updates.
- Battery Drain: Enabling High Frequency Mode rapidly drains the device battery. If the battery level is low, the device may revert to a more power-efficient reporting mode.
- Configuration: To enable or disable High Frequency Mode:
- Navigate to Assets in the MyGeotab main menu.
- Select the asset you want to update to open the Asset Details page.
- Click Asset Options > High Frequency Mode or Settings > GO Anywhere Settings and switch the High Frequency Update toggle On or Off.
The GO Anywhere device also has a Movement Based Mode, where it updates its location when movement is detected (trip start) and gathers location data every 30 minutes during a trip. Once the device detects that a trip has ended (stationary for 1 hour or more), it uploads all stored data.
I think for your use case the movement mode is the way to go. You can make the assumption it is in the last recorded position when trying to find where it is since it will wake up and start reporting once it is on the move.
I hope this helps but please let us know if you have any other questions.
Have a great day!
