Custom Geotab device parameter to disable accelerometer data

I was wondering if a custom device parameter exists that can disable the accelerometer on a device. A bad install is causing the accelerometer to go haywire and trigger several possible collision events. I was hoping there is a parameter that I can add to the device to disable the accelerometer until the device is reinstalled and secured. Several users are getting spammed with false alerts.

Geotab supplied me with this parameter.

<GoParameters><Parameter Description="Disable Accelerometer" Offset="84" Bytes="80" IsEnabled="true"/></GoParameters>

I have not had a chance to test this out yet.

Hey, @ssartor-1546!

There's a parameter that exists that will stop the device from disabling due to too many accelerometer events. It's not recommended to be used often or without cause because of how much additional data is consumed when it's applied.

I don't have the parameter handy anymore, since the databases I used it on are Fleet Nav ones, but you should be able to reach out to Solutions Engineering or your PAM to get a copy of it.

Not sure if there's a parameter to disable the accelerometer itself, but I'm guessing SolEng would be your best bet for that, too. Maybe @AaronD-Geotab-IICON could give you better specifics if he's available. 🤔

Hope this helps at least point you in the right direction. :)

@JoyB-1408 I think the one you're talking about is <Parameter Description="Disable Accelerometer Record Limit" Offset="65" IsEnabled="True" Bytes="02" />. It's pretty much the opposite of what @ssartor-1546 is looking for unfortunately.

Yep, that's the one. Thanks for chiming in to keep things on the right track here, @TonyFC-1053. :)
