Hello @DCoac-2135

Thank you for reaching out and sharing this question with us. It is great to have you here in the community! My apologies for the delay in answering your question.

If your drivers are on a Canadian HOS ruleset (e.g., Canada South of 60), this behavior is by design and tied directly to Transport Canada regulations.

 Why the popup appears

Under Canadian HOS rules, drivers are permitted to designate their start-of-day time once per cycle, specifically during a cycle restart (after taking the required off-duty time). Geotab surfaces this as a confirmation popup at the start of each new cycle so that drivers explicitly set or confirm their preferred start time before logging resumes. This flexibility is built into the Canadian regulatory framework, and Geotab implements it accordingly.

The good news: midnight is already the default

The 24-hour work day window defaults to 12:00 AM (midnight) at the start of every new cycle. If drivers simply accept the default at the popup without making a change, they'll already be starting at 12am so no action needed on their part.

Can the popup be disabled or the time locked to 12am?

Currently, there is no admin setting in MyGeotab to suppress this popup or lock the start-of-day selection fleet-wide for Canadian rulesets. We are aware that fleet-level control over the start-of-day time is something customers are asking for. This is actively being tracked on our product roadmap. In the meantime, the best options are to train your drivers to always accept the 12:00 AM default when the popup appears since midnight is pre-selected. You can also give feedback to our Feedback Hub to continue building the case to develop a feature like this. When you give feedback there it will go to our product team to let us know more customers are asking for something like this.

 Have a great day!
