Fraud prevention
How Geotab Fleet Card detects suspicious card activity and what to do when it is found.
Geotab Fleet Card checks each transaction for signs of fraud. A transaction is flagged when one or more of the following occurs:
The vehicle is not near the merchant location at the time of purchase.
Fuel purchased is more than the vehicle's tank can hold.
When a purchase is flagged, the Administrator gets an email and SMS alert. A daily summary is also sent. Driver alerts are optional.
Reviewing a suspicious transaction
Learn how to review a flagged transaction and decide what action to take.
A transaction is flagged when the purchase does not match what is expected. For example, when the vehicle was not near the merchant at the time of the charge.
The transaction is reviewed and action is taken if needed. Repeat for each flagged transaction on the Suspicious Activities page.
