Driver-specific insights

Driver-specific insights provide drivers with a personalized collision risk assessment based on their driving in Geotab Drive.

Drivers can check their own collision risk level and see how they rank for each driving behavior in Geotab Drive. To see this data, drivers press Safety on the Geotab Drive dashboard.

This helps drivers track their habits and take action without waiting for coaching. This feature is off by default. To turn them on, set up a custom security clearance.

Enabling driver-specific insights

Learn how to allow drivers to see their own collision risk data in Geotab Drive.

To turn on driver-specific insights, you need a custom sub-clearance for the drivers in your fleet. If you already have a sub-clearance set up, you can adjust it to include this feature instead of creating a new one.

  1. Navigate to People > Clearances in the main menu.
  2. Select the Drive App user parent clearance, then select Add Sub-Clearance.

The Security Clearance Edit page with the Add Sub-Clearance button displayed.

A sub-clearance is a custom level of access. Sub-clearances can expand or limit what users can do.

  3. Enter a Name for the sub-clearance.
  4. Select the features this clearance can access.
A sample Security Clearance Edit page.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Navigate to People > Users & Drivers in the main menu.
  7. Select one or more users to edit:
    • Single user: Click their name to edit.
    • Multiple users: Select the users you want to edit, then click Edit selected users.
  8. Assign the sub-clearance to the users under the User tab.
    • Single user: Select the sub-clearance from the Security clearance dropdown.
    • Multiple users: From Security clearance, select Replace With, then select the sub-clearance from the dropdown.
  9. Click Save.

The selected drivers can now view their collision risk level and rankings in Geotab Drive.
