Setting up an IOX-ALERT event rule

Learn how to set up the IOX-ALERT accessory in MyGeotab by creating an event rule that triggers when the panic button is pressed.

The IOX-ALERT is an accessory with a panic button. Install the accessory using its installation guide before you set up the rule.

  1. Navigate to Groups & Rules > Rules in the main menu.
  2. Click + Rule.
  3. Enter a name for the rule and select the groups that the rule applies to.
  4. Click the Conditions.
  5. Open the Advanced conditions editor.
  6. Enter Fault[diagnostic=DiagnosticPanicId] exactly as shown.
  7. Optional: Click the Notifications tab and add the notifications you want.
  8. Click Save.
The rule triggers when the IOX-ALERT panic button is pressed.
Note: A change of state on the IOX-ALERT, from on to off or from off to on, wakes the device from sleep mode.
