Connection options

The GO Focus Plus is compatible with either a GO device or OEM telematics (where telematics comes from the vehicle itself). Please note that the quality of the telematics data is inferior without a GO device.

For direct vehicle connections, a power cable is required. To connect to a GO device, a GO Focus Plus Smart Cable is required.

Option 1: GO Focus Plus and GO device

The GO Focus Plus Smart Cable enables the GO Focus Plus to seamlessly connect to a Geotab GO9 or GO9 RUGGED. The GO Focus Plus Smart Cable supports a broad range of topologies of use cases.

GO Focus Plus Smart Cable specifications

GO Devices supply a maximum power output of 2.5A at 12V (or 1.25A at 24V) to the IOX BUS. Since the GO Focus Plus consumes 1A at 12V, the total current draw for all other connected IOX devices must not exceed 1.5A.

The total cable length must not exceed 5m / 16ft. The GO Focus Plus must be the last device in the IOX daisy chain.

GO9

The GO9 connects to the GO Focus Plus Smart Cable which connects to the GO Focus Plus.

GO9 with Extension Cable

An extension cable is suitable for larger vehicles and increases the cable run by 5 m / 16ft.

The GO9 connects to an extension cable which connects to the GO Focus Plus Smart Cable. The GO Focus Plus Smart Cable is then connected to the GO Focus Plus.

GO9 Rugged

The GO9 Rugged connects to the GO Focus Plus Smart Cable which connects to the GO Focus Plus.

GO9 - IOX Add-Ons

Option 2: GO Focus Plus and OEM Telematics

GO Focus Plus supports OEM telematics (i.e., telematics comes from the vehicle itself; there is no GO device in the vehicle). Please note that the quality of the telematics data is inferior without a GO Device. You need to purchase one of these two cables to connect your GO Focus Plus to an OEM Video Telematics-enabled vehicle (without a GO Device).

3-Wire Power Cable

The GO Focus Plus connects to the 3-Wire Power Cable which connects to the vehicle’s fuse box.

The GO Focus Plus - 3-Wire Power Cable (HRN-IOXGFP-3W) needs to be purchased separately.

There is an optional connector on the 3-Wire Power Cable for a panic button.

OBD Power Cable

The GO Focus Plus connects to the OBD Power Cable which connects to the vehicle’s OBD-II port.

The GO Focus Plus - OBD Power Cable (HRN-IOXGFP-OBD) needs to be purchased separately.

An optional Auxiliary Panic Button (HRN-IOXGFOBD-PBTN) can be connected to the OBD plug of the OBD Power Cable for a discreet installation (under the steering column for example).
