Video coaching for GO Focus Plus now offers broader event coverage and richer evidence with three new additions.

Smart speeding - Coming Soon

GO Focus Plus dashcams will soon detect speed limit signs, capture a snapshot, and automatically attach it to speeding events. You will see the violation and the proof side by side.

  • Automatic sign capture: Speed limit signs are detected, captured, and geo-tagged without any manual effort.
  • Event linking: Each snapshot is linked directly to the speeding event, so there's no manual lookup required.
  • Stronger coaching evidence: Side-by-side view of speeding footage and the posted limit gives you concrete proof for coaching conversations that stick.

Illegal U-turn detection

GO Focus Plus dashcams now flag illegal U-turns automatically using road-facing video and vehicle motion data. Events appear in MyGeotab under Video > Events with no configuration needed.

  • Zero-setup detection: The system identifies illegal U-turns using a combination of video and motion data, with no rules or thresholds to configure.
  • Video-backed evidence: Each event includes video footage for coaching and corrective action.
  • Early risk identification: Spot non-compliant driving patterns before they become citations.
Auto-approval for coaching sessions

Coaching sessions will soon go straight to drivers through the Geotab Drive App without manual approval. You can enable this through Video > Settings.

  • Weekly batch delivery: Drivers get feedback delivered to them on a weekly basis, keeping the coaching loop consistent.
  • Manager time savings: Safety managers can focus on high-risk cases instead of routine approvals.
  • Faster correction: Quicker feedback means fewer repeat incidents.
Why these changes matter

These updates shift video coaching from a reactive, manager-driven process to a more automated and scalable one. By expanding the types of events captured and removing approval bottlenecks, fleets can correct unsafe driving behaviors faster and with stronger evidence to back every conversation.

Availability

These features will be available globally (excluding LATAM) in April 2026.
