Waiting for installation records to appear in MyGeotab can cause unnecessary delays and confusion for technicians on the job. Previously, it could take up to 30 minutes for these records to sync between our systems. To improve your experience, we have upgraded our backend infrastructure to push installation records to your database the moment they become available.

• Near real-time updates: Installation records now appear in MyGeotab almost instantly, providing immediate visibility for fleet managers and technicians.
• Streamlined workflows: You no longer need to add devices to your database prior to installation. This eliminates an administrative step and saves your team time on-site.
• Seamless background upgrade: There are no changes to the user interface or your daily workflow. You get a faster, more reliable synchronization process without needing to learn any new steps.

This behind-the-scenes update reduces the friction of onboarding new devices. By eliminating the lag time between installation and platform visibility, your team can confirm successful setups immediately and get vehicles on the road faster. Furthermore, this new synchronization model is more efficient, reducing overall data traffic to provide a more robust and dependable system for your daily operations.

This backend enhancement will be generally available to all global customers (excluding FedRAMP) starting in May, 2026. Because this is an infrastructure improvement, no action is required on your part to start experiencing these faster sync times.
