This update is for drivers on a Canadian ruleset. These drivers will benefit from this change and should know about this update. Other users will not be impacted.
Canadian Hours of Service (HOS) regulations allow drivers to update their start of day before a new cycle begins. Currently, Geotab Drive only prompts drivers to confirm or update their start of day when they first go on-duty by changing their status on the status screen.
The issue with this was that a driver's status could change in other ways that also start their new cycle. When this happened, drivers could be locked out of updating their start of day, even if they wanted to.
We’re updating Geotab Drive so it will prompt drivers any time they are eligible to change their start of day. This change means that no matter how a driver's status changes in Geotab Drive, if they are able to update their start of day, they will be prompted.
The most common ways a driver's status is updated that weren't covered before are:

We made this change to help drivers who intend to change their start of day when starting a new cycle. In some situations, drivers couldn't make this change because their status was updated from a page other than the status page in Geotab Drive. This update makes sure they always have the opportunity.
Drivers on a Canadian ruleset will be impacted by this change because they will now always see the prompt to update or confirm their start of day when starting a new cycle. All other drivers will not be impacted.
This isn't a new page you need to find. If you are a driver on a Canadian ruleset, you will automatically see the prompt to "Confirm or update start of day" within the Geotab Drive app whenever you start a new cycle and are eligible to make this change.
