Battery/Power isolators - trucks/heavy plant

If an asset is stopped (ignition off) but not isolated on the battery/power, what data will it still be recording? Could it possibly be giving an idling read due to the isolator being off & falsely thinking that the ignition is actually on? Go9/harness device direct to OMB.

@BPennAU It depends on how the device is installed but usually if it's installed via OBD then the device is looking for an RPM value from the truck. If the RPM is 0 then it'll register as ignition off and the device will go to sleep. If the RPM is higher than 0 then it'll register as ignition on and start tracking idling hours.

@Tony_M Thank you - that was my thought as well but just wanted confirmation from another brain! I've adjusted my report to include rpm to reflect true idling.

Still have questions?
