Data reprocessing
Data reprocessing in MyGeotab allows you to recalculate your data using new or updated information.
When you create a new rule in your database and apply it to groups, it generates exceptions from that point in time forward. To apply a new rule to previous generated data, you must reprocess your exception data.
Users can manually initiate data reprocessing using the Rules feature in MyGeotab. When reprocessing data, users should keep in mind these key points:
Processing time:
Reprocessing data for a period of less than seven days generally occurs immediately.
Reprocessing data for more than seven days is scheduled for after-hours processing. Results may not be available until the next day.
Large data reprocessing requests may take multiple nights to complete.
Potential lag time: Reprocessing data can cause lag in the database.
After-hours processing:
After-hours processing takes place between 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM daily and all day on Sundays.
The reprocessing window is based on the local time of the servers. For example, our North American servers use Eastern Time.
The custom code "WEEKENDPROCESS" enables all-day reprocessing on Saturdays and Sundays.
Archived assets: It is not possible to reprocess data for archived assets. If you need to reprocess data from assets that have been archived, you'll need to first reactivate the assets.
Checking reprocessing completion: To check if a reprocess request is complete, you must examine the exception data to check for the appropriate changes. For confirmation of reprocess completion, contact Geotab Support and provide the server and database name.
