Planned routes
Planned routes leverage your unplanned routes in combination with specific date, time, and stop duration data to create detailed route plans to help track your drivers’ productivity.
Planned routes combine the stops associated with an unplanned route with specific date, time, and stop duration information to create a detailed route plan that begins and ends at a certain time. Planned routes are assigned to specific assets.
Planned routes allow you to set the following conditions for the route:
The asset to which the route is assigned.
Whether or not the asset is already at the first stop of the route when the route begins.
If the vehicle is not already at the first stop, you can set the distance or time to the first stop from the vehicle’s original location.
The duration of time the asset is expected to spend at each stop.
For example, a delivery route with three stops could be converted into a planned route for Asset A, which begins at 9:00 AM. The application calculates driving time between each stop as 17 minutes between Stop A and Stop B, and 10 minutes between Stop B and Stop C. You set the planned stop duration for each stop of the route at 20 minutes each. Based on the distance between stops and your set stop durations, MyGeotab automatically calculates that the asset should complete the route at 10:27.
Once the driver has completed the route, you can monitor productivity by comparing the planned route to the driver’s trip. This allows you to monitor stop duration and driving time between stops and adjust your calculations as needed.
