Video player

The video player feature in MyGeotab allows you review video recordings directly in the application.

Note: The settings described in this article are intended for the GO Focus Plus and may not be available for all camera models.

The video player allows you to access different video features, such as downloading videos, marking videos for coaching, and providing feedback on video quality. It also lets you adjust your video playback settings, such as playback speed and audio volume.

Adjusting video player settings

Learn how to adjust settings for the video player in MyGeotab.

  1. Select the video you want to view by clicking on the thumbnail.
  2. In the video playback window, hover over the video display to show the action menu.
  3. Adjust the video playback settings:
    1. Click the Volume icon to mute the volume of the video.
    2. Click More options > Volume to adjust the volume of the video.
    3. Click More options > Speed to adjust the playback speed of the video.
    4. Click More options > Zoom to adjust the zoom level of the video.
Video playback settings are applied immediately to your video.

Adding labels to videos

Learn how to add labels to videos using the video player in MyGeotab.

Labels appear at the bottom of the video display and update dynamically based on telematics data recorded during the event.
  1. Select the video you want to view by clicking on the thumbnail.
  2. In the video playback window, hover over the video display to show the action menu.
  3. Click the + icon in the bottom right corner of the video display.
  4. Select a label from the list.
  5. Click Save.
Your new label will appear at the bottom of the video display. When you play the video, it will update automatically.

Providing feedback on videos

If you notice issues with video events in your fleet, you can flag the video to provide feedback to Geotab about the problem.
  1. Select the video you want to view by clicking on the thumbnail.
  2. In the video playback window, hover over the video display to show the action menu.
  3. Click the Flag icon.
  4. In the popup, specify your issue.
    Note: If your specific issue is not included in the available options, you can click Something else in the list and write a short description of your issue. Uploading files to attach to your comment is optional.
  5. Click Submit.

Marking events as coachable

Learn how to mark events as coachable in the video player in MyGeotab.

Marking an event as coachable turns it into a coaching event on the Coaching page.
  1. Select the video you want to view by clicking on the thumbnail.
  2. In the video playback window, hover over the video display to show the action menu.
  3. Click the Cap icon to mark the event as coachable.
The Cap icon will turn red to indicate that the video has been added to the Coaching page.
