Asset Inspections Overview

The Asset Inspections Overview page gives you a high level view of your fleet's asset inspection compliance.

The Asset Inspections Overview page collects your fleet's asset inspections in one place for review. You can use it to review submitted inspections, identify assets with major defects, and export inspection records as PDFs.

The table shows the following information for review:
  • The asset and its type

  • The date and the duration of the inspection

  • The person who performed the inspection

  • The inspection status

  • Whether or not the asset is safe to operate

  • The health status of the asset

  • A count of the defects flagged in the inspection

Asset Inspections Overview summary cards

The Asset Inspections Overview page features summary cards at the top of the page to help you quickly filter the page.

The following summary cards are available:

Card titleDefinition
Critical AssetsAssets with outstanding major defects.
Pending ReviewsCompleted inspections that have not yet been marked as reviewed.
Inspection VolumeThe total number of inspections completed in the selected date range.
Completion TimeThe average duration of inspections in the selected date range.

You can click the Critical Assets and Pending Reviews cards to quickly filter the table.

Viewing the Asset Inspections Overview

Learn how to view the Asset Inspections Overview page in MyGeotab.

  1. Navigate to Compliance > Inspections > Asset Inspections Overview in the main menu.
  2. Using the Filter menu:
    1. Select the groups you want to include in the report.
    2. Select the assets you want to include in the report.
    3. Select a date range for your data.
    4. Set any other filters you want to apply.
    5. Click Apply.
  3. Review the table results.
You can filter the table using the summary cards at the top of the page. You can also reorganize the table by clicking any table header to sort by that metric.

Reviewing asset inspections

Learn how to review asset inspections using the Asset Inspections Overview feature in MyGeotab.

  1. Navigate to Compliance > Inspections > Asset Inspections Overview in the main menu.
  2. Locate the inspection you want to review in the list, or use the Filter panel to filter the page.
  3. Select the asset inspection from the list to open its details page.
  4. Review the inspection.
    Note: A summary of inspection items to provided on the right side of the page, including a count of inspection items, the number of items that passed, and the number of items that failed.
  5. Once you've finished your review, click Mark as reviewed in the top toolbar.
  6. Add a comment to the inspection.
  7. Click Submit.
The inspection's Status on the Asset Inspections Overview page will now be updated to reviewed.

Bulk exporting inspections as PDFs

Learn how to export multiple inspection files at the same time from MyGeotab as PDF files.

Note: Bulk PDF export is limited to 1,000 inspections per batch.
  1. Navigate to Compliance > Inspections > Asset Inspections Overview in the main menu.
  2. Use the Filter panel to set the filters for the inspections you want to export.
  3. Click the checkbox in the table header. This selects all rows in the table.
  4. Click Print.
  5. Set the Destination to Sage as PDF.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Specify a location on your device to save the files.
  8. Click Save.
Your files will be saved to the location you specified in a single PDF file.

Exporting inspections as a CSV file

Learn how to export inspections from MyGeotab as a CSV file.

  1. Navigate to Compliance > Inspections > Asset Inspections Overview in the main menu.
  2. Use the Filter panel to set the filters for the inspections you want to export.
  3. Click the checkbox in the table header. This selects all rows in the table.
  4. Click Download CSV.
You can find your CSV file in your downloads folder on your device.
