User options

User options allow you to set up your account to match your needs.

The Options page in MyGeotab allows you to customize your user preferences to suit your role. Settings on the Options page apply only to your account in MyGeotab and do not affect the database for other users.

Settings are broken down into five main categories for ease of use:

  • Main Settings: These let you change regional preferences such as language and units of measurements, as well as your UI preferences.

  • Map Settings: These let you set your default map type and rank your saved views.

  • HOS Settings (North American only): These let you set HOS allowances such as yard moves, personal conveyance and adverse driving conditions. They also let you add information about your ruleset and home terminal.

  • Beta Features: These let you toggle experimental features on and off.

  • System Communications: These let you set your communication preferences.

A large number of user preferences in MyGeotab configure settings that vary depending on your geographic region. These include units of measurement, regional currency, language, date format, and more. Since manually updating these settings to meet your needs can be time consuming, you can use a profile to quickly update settings in bulk to match those commonly used in various regions.

The current region profiles offered are:

  • Canada

  • Central and South America
