Audit log
The Audit Log feature keeps a record of all activity in your database, and can be used to track and review changes.
The Audit Log feature is a documented record of all database activity. It serves as a record of accountability, detailing who did what and when. It helps provide valuable insight into system usage patterns. Each log item identifies the action performed, the user who performed the action, and the time at which the action was performed. Logs are listed in reverse chronological order, beginning with the most recent activity at the top of the list.
To help you quickly narrow down log results to the data you need, you can use a number of filters in the Audit Log feature. These include options to filter the log by:
Audit type: The type of action performed
User: The user who performed the action
Asset: The asset involved in the action.
You can also filter the Audit Log using the standard date and group filters.
We recommend a regular review of the Audit Log as part of your account management process. Key audit log items to review include user logins, user logouts, and edits to system settings.
Note: The Audit Log displays a maximum of 500 entries at a time. For larger date ranges or extensive searching, we recommend exporting the log.
You can access the Audit Log by clicking the Profile icon at the top of the page and selecting Audit Log.

Note: When viewing audit logs, some entries may be attributed to the "System" user. These records indicate automated events or background processes performed by MyGeotab itself, rather than a specific human user.
