Installing the GO Focus

Install the GO Focus on a vehicle windshield to enable AI-powered dash cam and safety monitoring features.

Warning: Always read and follow all safety information, including the important safety information and limitations of use, before harness or IOX installation. Disconnect the GO device from the vehicle before installation and reconnect after installation. Failure to follow these instructions can result in loss of vehicle control and serious injury or vehicle damage.
Important: Professional installation (Certified Geotab® Installer or equivalent) is required for the safe and proper installation of this product. The installer must have sufficient technical knowledge and expertise for the respective installation.
Warning: All in-vehicle devices and related cabling must be securely fastened and kept clear of all vehicle controls, including gas, brake, and clutch pedals. Use a cable tie when securing the device or extension harness to the OBD connector, securing both sides of the harness. Vibration in the vehicle can lead to a loose connection, which could indirectly cause the vehicle’s engine computer to fail, loss of vehicle control, and serious injury.
Warning: Ensure the GO Focus is installed securely and the installation location does not affect the driver’s visibility of the road, mirrors, or vehicle controls. Failure to do so may interfere with vehicle operation, resulting in property damage, collisions, or serious personal injury.

Before installation, ensure the following items are on hand:

  • GO device (GO9 or newer), not connected to the vehicle
  • GO Focus safety sensor
  • Mounting bracket and locking tool
  • Alcohol wipes
  1. Ensure a GO device is available and not connected to the vehicle. Note the GO Focus serial number (SN: ########) for later.
  2. Clean and dry a suitable windshield area for the GO Focus.

    Ensure the GO Focus position:

    • Does not obstruct the driver’s viewing area.
    • Is within the sweep zone of the windshield wiper.
  3. Mount the sensor bracket to the windshield.
    1. Loosen the pivot on the bracket.
    2. Remove the protective film from the bracket adhesive.
    3. Apply the bracket to the windshield and hold pressure for 30 seconds, ensuring the GO Focus is level and pointing straight forward.
  4. Slide the GO Focus into the bracket and use the provided locking tool to tighten the unit in place.
  5. Attach the cable to the GO device and plug in the IOX extension cable.
    Important: Ensure the GO device is not connected to the vehicle and that the cable does not obstruct the driver’s view or ability to operate the vehicle.
  6. Start the vehicle and verify the GO Focus activates successfully.

    The GO Focus powers on and produces an audible chime. Ensure the GO device is connected to the vehicle. The GO Focus automatically pairs with the GO device.
