I want to do a GetFeed on devices by group. Is the best way to do it to run a Get request on Device and search by group, then do a multi call of GetFeed requests on LogRecords searching by the resulting devices from the first request? I also though about just doing a LogRecord feed and filtering after the fact by the list of devices, but felt that would be a lot worse. I guess I'm really just checking to make sure there isn't a way to do a GetFeed on LogRecord searching by multiple devices in a single request. Thanks,Tucker

Best practice for GetFeed for LogRecord on multiple devices?

I'm going to call support too, but thought that posting here might get a quicker response. The Geotab API Reference is "down" right now. You can't scroll past the Authenticate method when you load this page:  https://geotab.github.io/sdk/software/api/reference/

Geotab API Reference is down

I tried posting this last week but it's stuck in Pending Review, so I've taken a screenshot to post it again. I suspect the post got flagged for review because I mention the authenticate() method and it probably needs to be reviewed to make sure I didn't accidentally expose credentials. It's been in review for a week though so I'm going ahead and trying a repost to see if this works.  Hopefully this works. Thanks,Tucker

Issue Authenticating with Session in Python (attempt 2)

We have a button add-in that isn't loading on the device page anymore. I tried using the example add-in from github too and that one won't load either. This is happening with feature preview turned on, but not when it's turned off, so I assume it has to do with the new version. Is there something I need to update to get the add-ins working again? Thanks,Tucker

Device Page Button Add-ins Broken

I want to be able to send an email to a group of email addresses whenever a driver sends a message from the Geotab Drive app. This is a feature in People Net and we're trying to replicate it for a customer. Thanks,Tucker

Is it possible to hook into the Messages feature in Geotab?

I know this has to be somewhere in the documentation or forums but I searched both and couldn't find it. I want to get it from within the focus method, but I've tried a few things with no luck so I figured I'd go ahead and ask here. Thanks in advance

How can I get the currently logged in user in a MyGeotab Add-in?

I want to add a report to a database's dashboard with code. I looked through the MyGeotab SDK and the MyAdmin SDK and didn't see anything that looked like I could so I wanted to ask here just to make sure I didn't miss something. Thanks,Tucker

Is there a way to add a new report to a dashboard with the MyGeotab API?

I'm working on an integration for a customer who wants to get coordinates from Geotab as well as the direction the vehicle is traveling. Is it possible to get the traveling direction with GetFeed?

Is it possible to get driving direction with coordinates in MyGeotab SDK GetFeed?

I have a customer who has an internal web app they've developed but they want to access it from within the Geotab Drive app. Is there any way to so something like iframing it into Drive like we do in MyGeotab? If not I can build a Drive add-in for them but that would be a little more dev work so I wanted to check on this before starting. Thanks!

Can I add an iframe as a Geotab Drive Add-in?

Hey <a data-id="1143" data-value="DFenn-1143" data-denotation-char="@" href="/user/dfenn-1143" class="text-decoration-none mention">@DFenn-1143</a>, Can you go into more detail about exactly what you're trying to do? If you have a list of serial numbers and you need to know if each one is a GO Device or a different device type, then you can do it with this <a href="https://developers.geotab.com/myGeotab/runner/index.html?script=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&amp;lang=js&amp;ex=__custom__" target="_blank">API request</a> in the runner, just copy paster the serial numbers in 1 at a time and hit &quot;Run&quot;. The result will show up on the right and it will tell you what the <a href="https://developers.geotab.com/myGeotab/apiReference/objects/DeviceType/index.html" target="_blank">deviceType </a>is. If you need more than that, let me know and I can help you with it. Thanks, Tucker

Hey <a data-id="8083" data-value="mdevol" data-denotation-char="@" href="/user/mdevol" class="text-decoration-none mention">@mdevol</a>, Getting Devices is limited to 5000 results, if you look at the API reference page for it here: <a href="https://developers.geotab.com/myGeotab/apiReference/objects/Device/index.html" target="_blank">Device</a>, you'll see that at the bottom, it has the pagination information. You can implement pagination by following <a href="https://developers.geotab.com/myGeotab/guides/concepts/#pagination" target="_blank">this guide</a> in the documentation. Let me know if that works or if you have any other questions! Thanks, Tucker

<a data-id="1143" data-value="DFenn-1143" data-denotation-char="@" href="/user/dfenn-1143" class="text-decoration-none mention">@DFenn-1143</a> Nothing like that is supported that I know of, but you could maybe do it a hacky way by looking at what Geotab is storing in the browser Cookies &#x2F; local storage and then recreating that from API authentication, but that's not supported and could break at any time if Geotab changes anything. Is there a reason you want this specific workflow where users log in without ever knowing their passwords?

We integrate with over 40 different fuel cards and on-site fueling providers so if you have multiple sources of fuel, you can still view all of it in one location. We validate location and fuel level changes automatically and give you tools to quickly investigate all discrepancies. <a data-id="1143" data-value="DFenn-1143" data-denotation-char="@" href="/user/dfenn-1143" class="text-decoration-none mention">@DFenn-1143</a> I'm not actually part of Geotab, we're Geotab partners, and unfortunately I wasn't here in 2016 so I'm not aware of anything back then, but Geotab does support <a href="https://support.geotab.com/mygeotab/doc/sso-saml" target="_blank">SAML </a>which you might be able to use for that assuming the users do have users in your system that would be compatible with it. Otherwise the only thing I can think of would be the hacky way I mentioned before unless someone else knows something different. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

Hey <a data-id="10732" data-value="mike23421" data-denotation-char="@" href="/user/mike23421" class="text-decoration-none mention">@mike23421</a>, I wouldn't be too concerned with the API rate limits, they're pretty generous and you would probably need to do something crazy to be able to hit those limits, and I would hope the mcp would be built in a way to use best practices and not hit rate limits with normal use.
