I recently received an email from Geotab saying that our database will soon be requiring session-based authentication. All of the integrations I've built so far use the .NET SDK and the connection is created by calling 'new API(userId, password, null, database, server)'. Do I need to do anything to future proof these applications to comply with the new session-based authentication?

When using DVIRLog data retrieved via the SDK, how can I lookup the name of the vehicle if the DVIR was performed on a trailer? I have no problem looking up the name for a truck (by using DeviceID), but the value in the DVIRLog data for TrailerID is a longer alpha-numeric value. This number doesn't match any of our device IDs if I retrieve all of our devices. I was able to see that some of our devices have the  'TmpTrailerId' field populated with this field, but from what I see in the SDK, this field is marked as obsolete. What's the best way to go about finding the trailer name for a DVIRLog record? Thanks,Sean

I've setup the API Adapter and I'm trying to retrieve as much data from it as I can that I used to pull through the C# SDK. One thing I absolutely need to get is odometer data. I'm not seeing that I'm getting StatusData for all of our units for the odometer. I can see units that are showing odometer values updating when I look at our asset list in the website, and if I use the SDK to pull the 'DiagnosticOdometerAdjustmentId' diagnostic (where FromDate and EndDate are set to UtcNow), I get the updated value. But I'm apparently not getting the corresponding data flowing into the Optimizer database. From what it looks like, the only odometer data I'm getting in the Optimizer database is the 'DiagnosticOdometerId' data, not the adjustment data. This isn't happening for all units though. So, does this mean that there's something wrong that's not allowing the Geotab device to read the actual odometer reading from the ECM and is therefore having to generate a guessed amount? If so, is there any way to get adjustment odometer data through the API adapter? I'd like to be able to rely on the API adapter data as much as possible, but in order to do that, I need to be able to get odometer readings for all of our units. Thanks,Sean

I currently retrieve from the SDK any duty status logs that show a codriver but we don't show the driver in our backend system having a codriver and then email this information to the appropriate party to see if the codriver should be removed in Geotab. I'm not pulling in data with the API adapter and I see that we're getting JSON data in the CoDriver field in the DutyStatusLogs table when the driver has a codriver, but the Id for the codriver is always empty. Is there a way to have this be populated with the Geotab user id of the codriver? If there is no codriver on the log, the CoDriver field in the record is null, so we can identify which drivers have an attached codriver, but we just can't determine who the codriver is based on the field being empty in the database. Thanks,Sean

Unable to get codriver ID in API adapter database

I'm setting up the API Adapter for the first time and ran into an error the first time I tried running the Optimizer application. Data is already flowing into my adapter database successfully. The error I'm getting is:  Column 'SerialNumber' does not allow DBNull.Value I can see from the table properties that in the adapter database the SerialNumber column in the Devices table allows null, but the SerialNumber column in the optimizer DB's DevicesT table does not allow nulls. Looking at the data being pulled into the adapter database, we have hundreds of devices that look to be trailers that have a GeotabId but the SerialNumber is null. The DeviceType for these devices is "None". Can I simply update the DevicesT table in the optimizer database to allow for nulls, or is there something in the config that should be set to prevent these devices from being brought over to the optimizer database? Thanks,Sean

Error first time running Geotab API Adapter Optimizer

I'm trying to retrieve 'DiagnosticOdometerAdjustmentId' StatuData for all of our devices in a single call using the C# SDK, but I'm not able to create the DeviceSearch object properly in order to pull down any data. If I limit the DeviceSearch to a specific device ID, then I can get the StatusData I'm looking for, but if I set the DeviceSearch to include all groups, I get no data. In trying to limit calls to the API in preparation for the upcoming rate limits, I'd like to be able to pull all of this data in one call. Currently I'm only able to create a multicall that includes all of our device IDs, but that's getting close to hitting the rate limit for the API. Thanks

We're going to be using the new split sleeper HOS ruleset and it appears that I can't read or set this using the SDK. I've upgraded to version 5.7.2003 in my application and I don't see any of the split sleeper options in the User reference model.  I've pulled down some of our drivers via the SDk (which we've set to use the service rule "USA Property 70-hour/8-day with split sleeper" in the Geotab web portal) and the HOSRuleSet value for these drivers is 'null'.  As for setting the value (which I believe should be "America8DaySleeper"), I'm doing that in my C# application like this:driver.HosRuleSet = (HosRuleSet)Enum.Parse(typeof(HosRuleSet), driversUpdated[i].serviceRule);But without "America8DaySleeper" not being available in the 5.7.2003 version am I stuck? Any thoughts? Thanks,Sean

As a follow up, I updated the appsettings.json file for the adapter application to only retrieve the specific status data I'm looking for. Among the specific diagnostics, I added DiagnosticOdometerId, DiagnosticRawOdometerId, and DiagnosticOdometerAdjustmentId. Unfortunately the application isn't downloading any DiagnosticOdometerAdjustmentId data, which is what I believe I need in order to record an odometer reading for any vehicles in which we're not getting the actual odometer reading. I added this according to the official documentation for the adapter setup as shown on page 53 where the DiagnosticOdometerAdjustmentId diagnostic was specifically mentioned when showing how to setup the application to pull specific status data. I am now getting only the status data that I specified in the settings with the exception of DiagnosticOdometerAdjustmentId. What do I need to do in order to get this data as it's a must-have in order for me to not have to retrieve it through the SDK. ThanksSean
