The Cold Chain feature allows you to monitor engine data, sensor readings, and any other diagnostics data sent to the database from all assets at a glance. The Fleet Management Application automatically assigns the necessary Groups and Rules to your assets to include them in the Cold Chain page.

Introduction
This document provides information about the Cold Chain page and how to use it.
Background
The Cold Chain feature allows you to monitor engine data, sensor readings, and any other diagnostics data sent to the database from all assets at a glance. The Fleet Management Application automatically assigns the necessary Groups and Rules to your assets to include them in the Cold Chain page. You can find the Cold Chain page under the Compliance pillar in your database.
Cold Chain overview
You can do the following on the Cold Chain page:
- Name, VIN, or serial number – Search for a particular asset.
- Filter by group – Filter data that displays in the table by Built-in Groups, User Groups, or Advanced conditions. By default, the filters select the groups associated with the selected use case.
- Asset type… – Filter data that displays in the table by built-in (Container, Equipment, Trailer, Vehicle) or custom asset types.
- All filters – Open all filters.
- Faults card— View the number of assets with active faults and filter the table to view these assets only.
- Exceptions card — View the number of assets with active exceptions related to the selected use case, and filter the table to view these assets only.
Cold Chain table
The Asset Monitoring page includes a table that displays the following information, updated in real-time:
- View asset on the map – Click the map icon beside an asset name on the Asset Monitoring table to open the Map page and view that asset.
- Asset name – Indicates the name of the asset.
- Status – Displays an icon that describes if the asset is stopped, driving, or not communicating, and the time it has been on this status.
- Faults – Displays a notification icon followed by the number of active faults for that asset.
- Exceptions – Displays a warning icon followed by the number of active exceptions for that asset.
- Latest asset location – Indicates the address of the latest asset location, including a zone name if applicable.
- Refrigeration unit status

- Three dots menu icon – Open Diagnostics Data Profile or Trips History for each asset on the list by hovering over a row and clicking the three dots menu icon.

Using the Cold Chain page
1 | From the main menu, navigate to Compliance > Cold Chain. | ||||||||
2 | Click a card to filter the table.
You can select Faults, Exceptions, or cards related to the Cold Chain rules.
Refer to Setting up Cold Chain rules for more details. ✱ NOTE: The cards display the number of assets that have triggered the faults, exceptions, or rules in the past 24 hours, even if the issue is resolved. | ||||||||
4 | View information about all assets included in the selected card. To view details about a specific asset, select it from the list. |
Viewing Fault or Exception details
1 | From the Asset Monitoring table, click the Faults or Exceptions icon to view details on that asset’s alerts.

2 | The box displays the latest three events. Click Learn More to open the Exceptions or Faults page for that asset. |
Setting up Cold Chain rules
Cargo Temperature Out of Safe Range rules
✱ NOTE: You must know the temperature diagnostic that has the cargo temperature data and use the correct temperature set point of the refrigeration unit.
1 | From the main menu, navigate to Groups & Rules > Rules. |
2 | Search for Cargo Temperature Out of Safe Range under Compliance rules. Three rules will display, for Zone 1, Zone 2, and Zone 3. |
3 | Toggle the applicable rules to On. |
4 | For each rule, enter the Threshold temperature and the Duration. The threshold temperature is used to set the range of temperature that is considered safe alongside the setpoint of the refrigeration unit, while the duration determines how long the cargo needs to be out of the safe range before compromising the cargo. |
5 | Click Save. |
Additional settings
Some use cases may require additional settings for your asset. To enter additional settings:
1 | From the main menu, navigate to Assets. |
2 | Select a specific asset from the table on the Assets page to view and edit its details. |
3 | Select the Settings tab. |
4 | If the asset needs additional settings for Asset Monitoring, the Asset Monitoring dropdown is displayed. Open it to enter the required information. |
5 | When you are done entering information, select Save. |
Printing a Proof of Delivery
1 | From the Cold Chain page, find the asset responsible for the delivery and hover your cursor over its row to display the three dots menu. Open the three dots menu and select Diagnostics data profile.

2 | From the Engine Profile Data page, open the Options dropdown. |
3 | Select the Date Period relevant for the Proof of Delivery document. To enter a specific time window, select Custom. |
4 | Adjust the Display Options. We recommend toggling Yes to Group grid values. |
5 | After adjusting your Options, click Apply changes. |
6 | Select Print on your browser options, or use keyboard shortcuts (usually ctrl + P or command + P). ✱ NOTE: When printing or saving a PDF, we recommend using landscape orientation, and opening More settings to uncheck Headers and footers. |
Proof of Delivery details
The printable page for Diagnostics data profile includes the following:
- Company name - The name of the company managing the fleet.
✱ NOTE: The company name can be updated by Administrators on the System Settings page.
- Asset name - The name of the asset involved in the delivery, including license plate when available.
- Trip duration - The duration of the trip, including the start and end times.
- Report date and time - The time and date when the report was created.
- Cargo temperature information during the delivery - Available in chart and list formats.
