CALIBRATE IN CAMERAS SURSIGHT

Hi, team.
- I've found the following message on some Sursight cameras:
“”Calibrate your camera for the best performance".
- In the Sursight section, there's a “Calibrate” option.
Do you know if this issue can be resolved using this option, or what it's for?

@danielaramirez-1969 Hi, great question!

The "Calibrate your camera for the best performance" message is prompting you to calibrate the dashcam's accelerometer — the internal sensor that detects risky driving events like harsh braking and cornering. Without calibration, these events may not be detected accurately.

The Calibrate option you see in the Sursight section is exactly the right tool to resolve this. Here's how to do it:
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the ignition
2. Make sure the dashcam is online
3. Press the dashcam touchscreen and enter your PIN
4. Go to Settings → Calibration
5. The process takes about a second — the status will change from Not Done to Done

A couple of things to note:
- The dashcam must be online to calibrate
- If you're in a hilly area, move to as flat a surface as possible first
- If the camera has been moved to a different vehicle, it will need to be recalibrated

For reference, the AI-14 calibrates automatically — so this manual step only applies to the AI-12.

Hope that helps! Let us know if you run into any issues.

Have a good one!

@danielaramirez-1969 Are you not able to add images to your community post? Do you get some kind of error message?

Hi,

This option only allows you to increase or decrease the video quality.

Unless it has another function—can you help us out, @EishiFUN?
