To help every user unlock the full potential of MyGeotab from day one, we’ve launched a new, intelligent onboarding process. Previously limited to new users on databases created after January 2024, we’re expanding it to all users as of August 20, 2025.
This experience personalizes MyGeotab for each user's unique role and is paired with an upgraded, data-rich dashboard to deliver immediate insights.

MyGeotab offers a breadth and depth of functionality for a wide spectrum of fleet management use cases. We've taken a significant step to streamline the setup process and empower users to get the most out of our product from day one by creating a new user onboarding experience. The three facets of this new experience consist of system intelligence to learn about a user’s job(s), automated configuration of default settings, and a dashboard preloaded with interactive charts based on the user’s needs.
When new users are added to MyGeotab, they are greeted with an automated process to help them personalize their experience.

Quick Start Guides assist with general discoverability of essential features and contain guided walkthroughs, links to tutorials, guides, and other resources to allow for deep dives to learn about all that MyGeotab has to offer.
For example, maintenance managers will receive guidance on setting up maintenance reminders to efficiently manage their assets, while system administrators will be guided through the process of setting up groups and establishing user permissions. With this personalized approach, users are empowered to hit the ground running, eliminating the uncertainty and confusion often associated with the initial setup. This update is designed to significantly reduce setup time and flatten the learning curve for new users. By tailoring the initial experience, users are immediately directed to the features that are most relevant to their responsibilities, eliminating the confusion of initial setup and helping users start making data driven decisions from their very first session
These updates are currently available to any user on a Database created after January 2024. All other users will be migrated to this experience starting August 20, 2025.
Rules play a pivotal role in optimizing our product's capabilities. We have turned six rules on for all new databases by default. This automation significantly reduces the time spent on configuring rules manually and ensures that users benefit from the system's full potential without delay. These rules and their default settings are detailed below :
Where can I try this feature? All users of newly registered databases will have the ability to experience this feature when logging in to MyGeotab for the first time.
Is the onboarding experience available for all languages? The full experience is available for all MyGeotab supported languages.
If I skip the initial welcome flow where I pick my job priorities, can I revisit them later? Yes. You can select or adjust your job priorities by going to the Dashboard > select Edit personalization settings, and the welcome flow will appear again. Keep in mind that what you select here will adjust your personalized quick start guides.
How do I disable/opt out of this feature? If you choose to keep this off when registering a new MyGeotab database, this feature can be turned off by deselecting Automated Configuration at database registration
