Good Day, Curious to know if there is any developer documentation on Deep Linking to the Geotab Drive application?  We have some use cases where separate driver apps may need to invoke Geotab Drive and launch to specific intents.   I've not been able to find any published documentation on deep links that exist in Geotab Drive.  Would love any guidance on where to look to establish those links and be able to launch to specific screens externally for a smoother back and forth. Thanks!  Have a great day!

I think this will help <a href="/user/randy-thomas-1186" data-id="1186" data-value="rrand-1186" data-denotation-char="@" class="text-decoration-none mention">@rrand-1186</a>​! I took a solution that I worked on in another thread with <a href="/user/jake-jorns-8255" data-id="8255" data-value="jjake-8255" data-denotation-char="@" class="text-decoration-none mention">@jjake-8255</a>​, and re-shaped it to this report specifically. Here's how it works. FIRST, SEE IT IN ACTIONHere's the example on a real database. I've used the modified TimeCardWithOdometers.xlsm (attached at the bottom of this post), entered database settings for the API connection on the "Settings" tab, and then uploaded it to Geotab to pull for a date range. I took out some of the loading times and obfuscated customer data, so you can see how it runs live. <img src="/forum/plugins/gcs-uploads/files/0692J00000DAw3eQAD.gif" alt="TimeCardWithOdometer" /> NOW, HOW DOES THIS WORK?This works by going around some of the built-in Geotab Reporting. I go into more detail in another thread on Group Id found here: <a href="https://community.geotab.com/s/question/0D52J0000884kNNSAY/group-id-column-in-the-device-report?language=en_US" target="_blank">https://community.geotab.com/s/question/0D52J0000884kNNSAY/group-id-column-in-the-device-report?language=en_US</a>.  Essentially, I'm making a separate connection to the API to look up Odometer Data for the Vehicle and Date, then populating this into the Excel file. This is extremely powerful, in that you can get data that you won't normally have access to inside a single report, but there are a few caveats to be aware of. WAIT! WHAT ARE THE DRAWBACKS?There are a few issues to be aware of using this approach, so keep them in mind. <ul><li>You have to enter your database credentials on the "Settings" tab to make a connection to the database through the API. This goes no further than the Excel sheet, but I still recommend creating a separate, read-only, low-priority account for this to stay secure.</li></ul> <ul><li>This lookup is database and Excel intensive. Essentially we're asking Geotab for dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of mileage readings across a period of time. It takes a while, and it's not something you want to run all the time, since it will slow your database. That's the loading time you see when I open the Excel file above.</li></ul> <ul><li>Time Zones are hard to correlate in Excel. I use the local system time offset and convert to GMT. If you're running the report for a different time zone than your local system time, you may get some error in the odometer values because of mismatched time zones. In an ideal world we should cross-reference the time zone in the report to the correct offset and use that, but this iteration is not that advanced.</li></ul> Let me know if you have any issues, and if this gets you closer to what you're looking for. MyGeotab Report with Starting Odometer and ending Odometer.

Absolutely, happy to help.  A few quick pointers from our own efforts in this area, that may help you in your endeavors. <ul><li>StatusData will provide most of what you need. The StatusData Feed will have various diagnostics that provide insight on mileage, fuel usage, and idle. Be warned, StatusData is every single reading off the ECM, so there will be a lot of data to unpack there.</li></ul> <ul><li>Idle Time is the hardest to align with historical mobile comm providers. If you use Idle Time directly off StatusData you're getting every fractional second the engine idles. That's pretty extreme, it will count things like stop lights and stop signs and traffic.</li></ul> <ul><li>The best way I've found to align Idle Time is to use a custom rule that measures your own definition for Idle (such as if the Parking Brake is also on) or one of the defaults where you can adjust the seconds sitting still before the idle time rule activates. </li></ul> <ul><li>Once you do that, you can then pull the rule the ExceptionEvent DataFeed and total the values for it per vehicle. That will give you idle time that aligns with your definition (PeopleNet used 5 minutes for "Short Idle" and 30 minutes for "Long Idle" in the PerformX report design).</li></ul> <ul><li>That still leaves idle fuel use slightly misaligned from Idle Time. Haven't come up with a good answer for that yet, the StatusData doesn't report continually for Idle Fuel used, so you can't simply correlate the ExceptionEvent timing and subtract out the fuel. Know that in this model, actual gallons reported as idle fuel might be higher than the true idling amount by your business definition.</li></ul> Let me know if we can help further in the future, and have a great day! Scott ApplefeldASR Solutions

Export data from MyGeotab to a csv (or Excel) file to import into the PerformX SQL table of McLeod Software's LoadMaster program.

Good day! While I'm not familiar directly with the PerformX table in LoadMaster, I'm going to bet it's based on the PeopleNet PerformX data feed that was originally created and populated through their Link product for engine diagnostics, mileage, fuel, and idle time summaries. We have several customers with TMWSuite who have sought to replace the PerformX data feeds after migrating to Geotab. The data is definitely available in Geotab, but it doesn't source from just one location, so there's no direct Excel or CSV file output that can be used to match it succinctly. Due to the large volume of data needed to replicate the PerformX dataset, I believe the most effective way to accomplish this is to pull Data Feeds from Geotab down to a local source, then aggregate and analyze them into a summary dataset for reporting into the PerformX table as described.  There are a few methods of doing this. You can write your own service to pull from the data feeds and save it locally. Geotab has code samples demonstrating this in a pre-built solution that does something like this here: <a href="https://github.com/Geotab/mygeotab-api-adapter" target="_blank">https://github.com/Geotab/mygeotab-api-adapter</a>, which can definitely comprise the majority of the code necessary to do this. We have also built our own polling solution that pre-dates the Geotab solution above, which several of our customers use to mirror specific data down to their local system for advanced analytics. Some of the customers using this solution have built Excel reporting on top of these feeds that mimic portions of the PerformX reporting (particularly around fuel usage and idle time) for their own incentive programs. Obviously your technical comfort level with the API and LoadMaster will heavily dictate what path is most comfortable to you. Thank you Genevieve! We are one of the Eleos integrators, so we focus on empowering heavy truck customers with workflow and a customizable mobile app experience. For the most part, our users use the embedded Geotab drive experience Eleos created inside the app, by proxying through the https://my.geotab.com/drive interface. However, we have some customers who have use cases where they might prefer to use the Geotab Drive app separately. The notifications are more prominent, it lets them make better use of native tools and add-ins, and they don't have to sign into Eleos (and get their Geotab password reset) for situations where they only want to log hours, or where they cannot log into Eleos. What we'd like to do is create an experience that's similarly seamless for those use cases. So we could pull the hours into Eleos from the Geotab API easily, but we'd like to launch them straight to specific screens in Geotab Drive from Action buttons within Eleos. We can start any Deep Link, so my thought was that if Geotab Drive supported Deep Linking to specific intents, we could take them straight to the Asset Page, or straight to the Duty Status page, and so on, then they could resume using Eleos seamlessly when they back out. Thanks for your guidance, and have a great day!
