Log Data Buffer Overrun Go Device telematics fault code

Hello everybody,

Have you ever seen this fault code? The source is the telematics device and I would like to know what it means (at first sight I think that buffer memory is not able to save more info maybe due to long period without communication or something like that)

Screenshot_53

I found two devices with this fault and they have a common symptom: frequently intermittence and if you take a look into the log & data collisions you won't see ModemConnectionSuccess logs (just ModemSignalStrength/ModemManagerRetryFail logs)

  • Is this fault related to the communication issue?
  • Do we receive info in servers without ModemConnectionSuccess logs?
  • What can we do to solve this?

Thanks in advance, I will be reading your comments

Best regards!

Hello @CristianGarza-4486,

The 'Log data buffer overrun' fault indicates that the local memory of the telematics device is full while it is pending to reconnect to the servers and transmit this data. When the buffer memory is full, it will wrap and potentially overwrite existing data.

There are a number of possible causes for this fault, such as excessive logging by the telematics device, an issue with the middleware if there is an onboard telematics integration, an issue on the vehicle end etc. I recommend creating a support ticket so that we can determine the exact cause of the fault for these two devices.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Sheikh Uddin

Hi @CristianGarza-4486 ,

Always happy to see you and always appreciate all of the context you add to your questions 😊

Wasn't able to find any information on this exact fault, so I've asked the hardware/firmware experts to assist when they can a moment. We should have an answer for you today or the latest tomorrow.

If you have any other great questions to ask and add to our self-service mission, please do!

Warmest Regards,

Food, puppies, hiking, and community are pretty much my only hobbies these days lol You know I love the food photos! Any food photos are a treat (had too), but also love being able to learn about how another culture eats compares to how America views the cultures food. Tasty and educational 😋

@jjake-8255 is a great baker and sometimes will send picture perfect baked goods for me to be jealous over too.

Love you guys 💙

We should start an Insiders thread on food and animal pictures. Just sayin'.

I agree, learning about and making international foods is really fun. 🍣🍜🍛🍱🍝🌮
