1. Data is reported on an event basis (triggered). Please refer to the Data description section below.

2. If vehicle model is one of the following, then data point is not guaranteed to be reported and if reported, it will be available only at the end of trip:

  1. GMC SAVANNA
  2. GMC ACADIA / ACADIA LIMITED
  3. CHEVROLET EXPRESS
  4. CHEVROLET TRAVERSE
  5. CHEVROLET IMPALA LIMITED
  6. CHEVROLET CAPTIVA SPORT
  7. CHEVROLET CAMARO
  8. BUICK ENCLAVE
  9. CADILLAC CTS COUPE / CTS-V

  10. 3. This data attribute indicates whether the location services have been disabled or masked from the vehicle. A value of -1 indicates that the location services have been disabled. A custom rule can be created to monitor location masking status. To enable the location service, please refer to this document.

    4. This fault is only reported for vehicles which have active GM OnStar service ‘Automatic Crash Response’

    5. Some vehicles are affected by a known issue due to which high speed values may be reported intermittently. This issue is under investigation by GM.

    6. Only reported during charging

    Data Description

    Accident Event

Reported if any of the below conditions is met:

    1. The reported acceleration exceeds 2.6G
    2. OnStar package AACR is enabled before activating Geotab service and GM detects an accident via vehicle sensors. In this case, the event is reported as Fault 166. This could be included as a trigger condition in the ‘Possible Collision’ rule to improve accuracy.

    Acceleration

Please note that the data is reported by calculating change of velocity as the device does not have an accelerometer sensor. Reporting logic for acceleration data:

  11. Forward acceleration (Hard Acceleration): Reported only when acceleration is above 0.14G
  12. Backward acceleration (Harsh Braking): Reported only when acceleration is below -0.14G

Gear Position

The gear position is indicated as:

  1. Negative numbers — The gear position is in reverse.
  2. Positive numbers — The gear position is in forward.
  3. 0 — The gear position in neutral.
  4. 126 — The gear position in park.
  5. 127 — The gear position in drive
  6. Reported on gear changes — Based on events.

Ignition Status

  1. 0 - Off
  2. 1 - On
  3. Reported only when the ignition state changes (event basis)

Seatbelt Status

  1. 0 - Buckled
  2. 1 - Unbuckled
  3. Reported only when the seatbelt is buckled or unbuckled (event basis)
