Add-In tab items

The way I read this part, which I 100% could have misinterpreted. "The key difference between the Personal Mode and the new Restricted Data Mode is that the GPS record is not stored in the database during that time period."  My understanding Restricted mode was happening right at the database level between the GO device and MyGeotab as it says the GPS record is not stored in the DB when in restricted mode.Where as Personal mode appeared to just stop the database from making it accessible via MyGeotab, but was likely still storing it. That is the way I understood it. As mentioned I could be wrong, I am sure someone else may know the answer in the community. As for device replacement. I would not suspect any issues if you are referring to using the MyGeotab Replace with new device option... I would think the replacement device would connect for the first time to get any Firmware or Parameter GO device level settings and get updated accordingly. I can not think of a reason for an issue myself. Someone else in the community may know if there are any issues associated with this. Thank youJason

How to make an api call to get the current location co-ordinates of a vehicle on the road? Is this even possible?

If you just want to send an audible alert to try to deter / stop the speeding after hours you could try the following. Beep 10 times for speeding over posted road speeds in vehicle after set work hours. CONDITION IS AS FOLLOWS(Speed compared to Speed Limit Excluding Estimates data) &gt; 10 km/h and After Work Hours Rule "Standard hours" I used driving over posted road speed of 10 KM/hI excluded the Estimated Road speeds to reduce inaccurate driver alerts being sent.Lastly, I used the After Work hours rule for the timing and rule parameter that needs to be exceeded to trigger the audible alert. Code example below. And(   IsValueMoreThan[value=10km/h](       Speed,       SpeedLimitExcludingEstimates   ),    AfterRuleWorkHours[workHours=WorkTimeStandardHoursId],)  To initiate the beeping in the vehicle, select the notification tab .. Click the Add driver feedback button.From the options you can choose Beep 10 times rapidly. This will not send an  email to the driver but it will send a audible alert reminder to that vehicle breaking the rule which will remind the driver to slow down and also if applicable it is being monitored.Be sure to click save.  You can have a report sent to a particular user such as a dispatcher or Fleet department so they have validation in a report if needed as well. Please NOTE* Allow late notifications ON or OFF Which is located at the top of add driver feedback options...Allowing late notifications is useful when you would like notifications to be sent to the asset even if the exception has already passed. This is best used in situations where connectivity is poor or the telematics device is not using the ProPlus data plan. <a href="https://my.geotab.com/ofscontario/#helpGuide,heading:exceptions" target="_blank">See the Product Guide for more details</a> I hope it helps. I want to have a speeding rule notification go to the driver of the vehicle that is speeding.

Hello All This would be a hard one to validate without the use of Driver ID and or Geotab Drive. As mentioned previously, these would still be problematic in the scenarios of Drivers sitting doing paperwork with the seat belt unbuckled and idling, if the end result is to identify idling while the driver is not in the vehicle.I agree with <a href="/user/tony-mcgeough-1053" data-id="1053" data-value="TonyFC-1053" data-denotation-char="@" class="text-decoration-none mention">@TonyFC-1053</a>​  the driver is always assumed as being present, I do not recall ever seeing a Driver occupancy reference either.The only thing I can think of would be to utilize some type of integrated dashcam which is obviously not the most cost efficient way of getting what you are looking for.Initiating a policy to have drivers not leave the vehicle idling in the scenario of doing paperwork is not feasible either, especially in cold climates in the winter or even hot climates in the summer. Thanks for looping me in <a href="/user/eishifun" data-id="1044" data-value="EishiFUN" data-denotation-char="@" class="text-decoration-none mention">@EishiFUN</a>​  , I wish I could offer a more viable solution but unfortunately I am stumped as well. ThanksJason

Hello Thank you for looping me in <a href="/user/eishifun" data-id="1044" data-value="EishiFUN" data-denotation-char="@" class="text-decoration-none mention">@EishiFUN</a>​  Can you confirm this is the exact wording you are seeing.? <a href="/user/timothy-mott-1661" data-id="1661" data-value="TMOTT-1661" data-denotation-char="@" class="text-decoration-none mention">@TMOTT-1661</a>​ i.e. "geotab device failure" remove and try in a "test vehicle" I personally have never seen this exact wording for a device failure. I do not deny this is possible I just have never seen this exact wording personally. The following are a few different failure modes and exact wording I am familiar with. <ul><li>Telematics device fault: GPS quality poor (bad device install or vehicle undercover)</li><li>Telematics device fault: telematics device has been unplugged</li><li>Telematics device fault: all power removed - device restarted​</li><li>Telematics device fault: problem communicating with engine - potential bad install - harness issue or device failure - intermittent connection detected on the engine communications bus and it is now in listen only mode</li><li>Telematics device fault: low voltage in power supply (bad battery or reinstall required) - device restarted</li><li>Telematics device fault: serious problem communicating with engine - safety issue - remove device immediately - CAN BUS short detected</li><li>Telematics device fault: report to reseller - device restarted (internal reset condition)</li></ul> I would like to ask if you can provide a list of the affected serial numbers to my email address. jasonsherman@geotab.com I will confirm what I can see in the back end from your provided serial numbers. I may be able to determine a root cause.
