Adding zones

Adding zones! Let's get started. Navigate to the Map page in MyGeotab. Search for an address or adjust the map to display the area you want to create a zone around. Selecting the satellite view can help you make your zones more accurate by revealing structures and parking lots that are not shown on the regular map view. Click the add zone icon on the right side of the map or under the + menu. Click the map to start creating your zone. For this example, we'll create a corporate office area. Each click creates perimeter dots to establish your zone's borders. When ready, click on the first perimeter dot to complete the zone and move to the Zone Edit page. Enter a Name for the zone on the Zone Details tab. Add the zone to one or more groups, which will make it visible to only those groups. Use the Comment box for details about location. Indicate whether the zone will be visible on the map. Adjust the Types for this zone. Zone Types are a way to group similar zones together. Choose whether you'd like to track stops within the zone. Set an end date for the zone, which will make it temporary. This setting is helpful if you do contractual work and only need to track activity in the zone for the length of the contract. Even though the zone will disappear, the data will still be available in MyGeotab. Click the Map View tab when finished adding details to the zone. You can adjust the shape, zone color, and transparency. We recommend values less than 30% for the transparency. Click Save when finished. Congratulations!
