Using the events page

Using the events page! Let's get started. Navigate to the Events page in MyGeotab by either selecting Groups & Rules, then Events, or searching for Events in the menu. MyGeotab has several built-in views, including Overview, Aggressive Driving, Speeding, Collisions, and Idling. Use these views to focus on the type of event you want to investigate. When you select a view, you can use the Rules dropdown to further filter the results. Using the top toolbar, set the criteria to focus your search on specific events. Select Yesterday to choose the date range to review. Choose Last month to review a longer reporting period. The chart adapts to the selected date range. For shorter periods, the data may appear in a bar chart. Longer periods, such as a month, show in a line chart to make trends easier to identify along with a pie chart to compare event instances. Select Filters to further narrow the results to the events that matter. Adjust the report options—such as Groups and Drivers—then select Apply at the bottom when ready. The search bar lets you enter a term to narrow the results without opening the Filters pane. Enter a rule name to narrow the table to matching results. You can also investigate an event through the asset's trips history. Start by selecting a rule. Select the More dropdown to open the available actions for the selected asset. Select View trips to open the asset's trips history so you can see where the events occurred. Red markers identify events on the map view of the asset's trip. Back on the Events page, use the View by dropdown in the top toolbar to change the perspective and compare events by rule, asset, driver, and more. Select Drivers to organize event data around individual drivers. Choose a driver to review the events associated with their activity. The charts show the driver's rules, the number of events, and whether their trend is moving upward or downward. Select a rule to investigate the individual events. Use the chart to see how many events occurred over time and whether the trend is moving upward or downward. Review the details of each specific event in the table below the chart. Use these details to understand when each event occurred, how long it lasted, and how far the asset traveled. Congratulations! You've completed this tutorial for how to use the events page.
