Sustainability Center Overview

Welcome to the Sustainability Overview! Let's get started. The Sustainability Overview empowers fleets to achieve substantial fuel and energy savings through actionable insights and emissions reduction opportunities. Navigate to the Sustainability Overview page in MyGeotab by either selecting Sustainability, then Overview, or searching for Sustainability Overview in the menu. In the top toolbar, you can refine the data by choosing groups, selecting a specific powertrain or fuel type, and setting a date period to analyze. The metric summary cards at the top of the overview provide a broad view of Emissions Intensity, Avoided Tailpipe Emissions, and Fuel and Energy Economy. Emissions Intensity measures how many emissions are produced by a vehicle over a given distance. Underneath the metric summary card, use the Emissions Trend chart to see how emissions intensity changes over time and identify periods with higher or lower emissions. The Avoided Tailpipe Emissions metric measures the emissions prevented by using Battery Electric Vehicles and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles. Track how your fleet's avoided emissions change over time with the Tailpipe Emissions Avoided Trend chart. The Fuel and Energy Economy metric shows how much fuel and energy a vehicle uses over a given distance, with energy converted into fuel equivalents. The Fuel and Energy Economy Trend chart shows how fuel and energy economy has changed over time. You can use the Fuel and Energy Used tab to view total fuel and energy consumption. Selecting a metric summary card updates the Emissions and Fuel Trend charts in the Opportunities for Reducing Emissions and Fuel section further down the overview. Review the Emissions from Idling pie chart, visible when the Emissions Intensity metric summary card is selected, to identify the share of idling emissions associated with productive and preventable idling. Use the Emissions from Idling by Group table to compare fleet groups and identify idling hotspots based on emissions while idling as a percentage of overall emissions. The Idling Exceptions chart shows the total count of events and associated idling hours for the Idling and Idling Within Zone rules. The charts and data depend on the selected metric summary card, so select Fuel and Energy Economy when you want to analyze these opportunities in terms of fuel and energy usage. The Transitioning to EVs section provides a snapshot of EV suitability based on factors such as vehicle class and range capability. Review Potential Replacements to check how many light-duty vehicles in your fleet could be replaced by a comparable battery electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle. Potential Emissions Savings provides estimated savings by comparing the tailpipe emissions of recommended EV replacements with those of existing ICE vehicles. Run the free EV Suitability Assessment, or EVSA, for a more detailed assessment of electrifying your fleet that includes financial factors. Congratulations!
