Managing inspection rules and exemptions

Managing inspection rules and exemptions. Let's get started. Managing multiple US drivers can be overwhelming. MyGeotab has a compliance rule section that makes management easier by helping you review your drivers' behaviors. Click Groups & Rules. Click Rules. Scroll down to the Compliance section. To ensure drivers are completing asset inspections, enable the Pre-Trip Inspection Missing rule or the Post-Trip Inspection Missing rule. Click On to enable the rule. Click "turn on" to confirm. This enables the rule for all assets in your database. You can repeat the same steps with the Post-Trip Inspection Missing rule. These rules will notify administrators about the drivers who failed to complete asset inspections. You'll notice that the compliance rules offer options such as grace periods and distance traveled. These options make it simple to adjust the conditions that trigger an exception. The Yard Move Exemption rule allows drivers to remain in the "Yard Move" special driving category through ignition cycles without manually selecting "Yard Move" each time. This rule is colloquially known as the UPS exemption and is only for use in the USA. You can toggle on one or both parameters so that drivers will be taken out of the yard move exemption and placed back into Drive status if they go over the indicated speed or leave a zone designated as a Yard. Your administrators or maintenance team may want to be notified about any asset defects that are reported by drivers. If so, enable the Defect Recorded rule. Set the Severity preference, which indicates how serious a defect is. Remember that to the right of a rule, you can click the envelope icon to set up real time email notifications for users.
