💬 Q&A Recap
📷 GO Focus Pro

  • Q: Can other types of Dash Cameras be connected to Geotab or strictly Geotab cameras?
    • A: Currently, only Geotab-provided AUX Cams (as well as SD Cards, as a side note) will work together.
  • Q: Is there a way to dismiss the events if that is not something that is relevant to our company's policies?
    • A: Yes, each event can be manually dismissed. Additionally, the AI will start to learn over time as well.
  • Q: What do you do if you have a driver that has smaller eyes that causes them to get a lot of extra events when they are not really doing anything wrong?
    • A: We look at several different factors in determining the various events—the yaw of one's neck for eyes down/distraction events, or reaction time in the instance of drowsiness, to name a few. In addition, when a driver's Smart Driver ID Facial Template is created, we use it as a baseline.
  • Q: Is the secondary interior cabin capable of angling down to capture a lap belt using AI?
    • A: Absolutely, but typically the standard in-cabin/driver facing lens already has the field of view to capture seat belt events with the highest precision.
  • Q: I currently have a driver who uses his sun visors to block cameras. Will these new cameras possibly detect this?
    • A: While we cannot stop a driver from trying to manipulate or block the camera's lens, we do offer an alert when either the camera, cable, or lens is tampered with.
  • Q: Can we set up the leaderboard for a different period than 1 week, or how do we look back through the weeks?
    • A: The ability to switch time frames will be released soon for leaderboards and trend analysis.
  • Q: Are GO Focus Pro universal mounts for mirror diameters of 6" plus going to be available? (Larger than the planned tube mounts.)
    • A: We are working on offering a larger variety of mounting options to cover more vehicle types/makes/models and mirror configurations.
  • Q: Like harness protocols, will the Pro mounts have a list of recommended vehicle model types for mount size?
    • A: We are working on providing some support tools to help make it easy to select the proper mount for the proper make/model/vehicle type. Stay tuned will be available shortly
  • Q: Will side AUX cams also do license plate recognition?
    • A: License plate recognition is supported on the road facing camera on the GO Focus Pro
  • Q: Will the trailer link rear camera have the battery option to do security mode on a trailer, when released?
    • A: No it will not have this capability at this time.
  • Q: Can we reset parameters on tailgating?
    • A: Tailgating sensitivity offers user configurable settings (Low, Medium, High)
  • Q: Will the driver ID on the camera be able to restrict drivers starting the vehicle ignition in cooperation with the IOX-Relay (in the same way as the IOX-NFC Reader)?
    • A: This is not supported today but the functionality can be explored

🛠️ Maintenance, Compliance & Productivity

  • Q: What is the accuracy of the faults and at what % of risk should I be alerting my drivers?
    • A: We've seen 95%+ accuracy on the faults data, so we feel confident you can depend on it! We would recommend that if you have critical or high severity you alert your drivers.
  • Q: Will we be able to exclude non-DOT related inspections from the DOT inspections in the database/reporting?
    • A: Yes, that functionality will be available.
  • Q: Will drivers be able to upload pictures during pre-trip (i.e., without defects) to show the vehicle has no body damage?
    • A: Yes, that functionality will be available.
  • Q: Will we be able to enter in work done by VMRS code as well as part name? (Ex. Drive Tire Recap VMRS: 017-001-012)
    • A: We are currently working on a project to bring full VMRS coding into the maintenance system, but that functionality is not available today.
