Pre-trip inspections cannot be created in MyGeotab with existing defects

Hi.

Our company is trying to implement a daily vehicle inspection policy, however if defects were found on a previous inspection a new inspection cannot be created until those defects are cleared. Defects aren't always (actually rarely) repaired same-day, so they will often carry over to the next day.

We want to be able to continue creating new inspections each day regardless if existing defects that are pending. Is this possible or do we have to mark defects as "Not repaired" each day so that they can just be created again on the next inspection? That seems time consuming and more complicated to track defects across our fleet.

Thanks.

Hey @LHand-2048 ,

In this use case are the defects generally smaller issues where the vehicle can remain on the road? If so, I would recommend the Repair Not Necessary for the Safe Operation of the vehicle' option.

This can be done via a manager or driver for Non-Major defects and will "push" the defect to be reported on the next DVIR completed and allow a new inspection to be completed. Hope that helps!
