Hello,
A customer wants to create a rule to be informed when his asset leaves an area more than 200m.
We create a personnalized rule with the following condition : Asset "KX030-4 CANOPY ( 52923 )" where (Distance of Exiting Area "MAGASIN LOCAVERT VITRY" > 200 m)

But the customer comes back saying that the asset has leaving the area "MAGASIN LOCAVERT VITRY" but he didn't received any email.

I assume there's something wrong with the condition.
Thanks in advance for your insights.

HI karinesa-7985,
Things to check.
The rule is associated to the same group as the asset, if both are not in company group.
Did the rule trigger an event?
Is there an email in the notifications?
Does the user have visibility of the asset?
Does their security clearance allow them to receive notifications?

Can you provide the actual rule conditions?

@sonic_910 There's no group defined.
In the rule, the customer has choosed directly the asset.
No, the rule didn't triggered any event although the customer told me the asset has leaving the area.
The customer has all the clearances has he is an administrator.
This is the actual rule conditions : Asset "KX030-4 CANOPY ( 52923 )" where (Distance of Exiting Area "MAGASIN LOCAVERT VITRY" > 200 m)

The customer wants to receive an email when his asset "KX030-4 CANOPY ( 52923 )" leaves the area "MAGASIN LOCAVERT VITRY" more than 200m.

Thanks in advance.

@karinesa-7985 An email template takes care of being very specific rather than general about a rule break. The default template is vague. But with the custom one and the tags available you can really customize thd template show a map, add a click through to the event etc.

@sjohnson-6023 Thank you for your answer.
The problem is not the email or the email template.

I think the problem is the rule herself. I would like to be sure that the conditions the customer put to trigger the event is correct :
Asset "KX030-4 CANOPY ( 52923 )" where (Distance of Exiting Area "MAGASIN LOCAVERT VITRY" > 200 m)

Because since the rule has been actvated, it has never triggered an event although the customer said that it should.

Thanks in advance.

@karinesa-7985 Did you do a zone around the 200m? Try making os 200m.circumferemce from.thr actual zone (maim zone inside outter zone outsidd, and use the outside command on.the rule instead.

@sjohnson-6023 I will try. Thank you !

If a zone rule doesn't trigger as expected, check the following:
1. GPS logs: The rule only triggers if there are GPS records inside or outside the zone (not just the trip route). Check the logs under Security > Log & Collision Data.
2. Group assignment: Make sure both the vehicle and the rule belong to the same group.
3. Rule logic: For entry/exit events, use the OR operator. If you combine the zone with other conditions, use AND.
4. Zone size: If the vehicle doesn't stay long enough, try enlarging or repositioning the zone.
5. Reprocessing: New rules don't automatically apply to past trips. You need to reprocess the data to see previous events.

@karinesa-7985 The rule won't trigger because the Exiting Area condition is an instantaneous trigger and won't have a duration or distance associated, so the distance part can't be true. The easiest way to fix it is to create a new larger zone to account for the 200m distance and just have the rule set to trigger when the vehicle leaves that larger zone.

@Tony_M Yes as I said use the outside the zone then you cu.mulative time and distance for the rule
