Learn more about the Keyless is Geotab’s Shared Mobility solution. There are a few components you need to know, so use this document to guide your MyAdmin purchases and quoting.

Introduction
Keyless is Geotab’s Shared Mobility solution. There are a few devices and components you need to know, so use this document to guide your MyAdmin purchases and quoting.
The focus of this reference is on the Keyless solution specific components. Additional standard components:
- GO device (GO9 or newer): IOX Keyless or IOX Keybox connects into a GO via the IOX port.
- T-harness: supports OBD port access by service personnel without disrupting Keyless.
✱ NOTE - T-harness: For both push-to-start and bladed key ignition installations, the T-harness is used to install the GO device away from the OBD port to reduce the risk of accidentally unplugging the device. The T-harness is also used to install another device into the OBD port without having to remove the GO9 device. The most common harness is the HRN-GS16K2-A; however, harness installation depends on the vehicle. See Geotab’s harness assessment cheat sheet.
Check Vehicle or Key Support
A key fob (with buttons to unlock/lock) is a required starting point for IOX-Keyless and IOX-Keybox. Vehicles that require a pure bladed key to unlock or lock are not supported today.
Known Unsupported: IOX-Keyless(-NK) and IOX-Keybox

Known Unsupported: IOX-Keyless(-NK)
! IMPORTANT: IOX-KEYLESS(-NK) is exclusively compatible with key fobs that receive a 3V input for power. The maximum voltage that the IOX-KEYLESS(-NK) printed circuit board can supply is 3V. We do not support pure bladed keys without fobs, a fob with lock and unlock buttons is required. With IOX-KEYLESS(-NK) we generally support all key fobs as the key fob is technically soldered, however there may be a few exceptions. It is your responsibility to determine compatibility. The following table identifies vehicle makes and models that are known to have compatibility issues along with reasons why they are not supported.

Known Supported: IOX-Keybox
- As with IOX-Keyless, we do not support pure bladed keys without fobs, a fob with lock and unlock buttons is required.
- All supported key fobs: https://www.geotab.com/keybox-catalog/
- Only match the placement of the lock and unlock buttons, as well as the key fob shape. If your key fob has additional buttons to unlock or lock and/or those are placed differently, this doesn't matter to support.
- Only key fobs provided by the vehicle’s OEM are supported.
- You can request new key fob support: complete this form (also found linked from the right side of https://www.geotab.com/keybox-catalog/).
Rate Plan: ProPlus + Keyless
ProPlus+Keyless is still required to enable Keyless, until we transition to GO Plan, expected in Q4. In order to enable Keyless and place the device on ProPlus+Keyless, consult with your Partner Account Manager on the best approach to follow. We apologize for the inconvenience of these extra process steps while we are in transition to GO Plan.
- For Customer databases created before October 1, 2024: As part of GO device order placement, choose ‘ProPlus+Keyless’ during the checkout flow. Ensure the device is added to the database ahead of installation.
- For Customer databases created after October 1, 2024: Request support from your Partner Account Manager to transition the device to ProPlus+Keyless after the device has been assigned to a database and installed.
- For existing devices where a Keyless compatible device (IOX Keyless or IOX Keybox) will be added:
- If the device is currently on a ‘legacy plan’ (not GO Plan): The Partner Reseller can transfer the device to ‘ProPlus+Keyless’ via MyAdmin Device Management.
- If the device is currently on GO Plan: Request support from your Partner Account Manager to transition the device to ProPlus+Keyless.
IOX Keyless or IOX Keybox
Both are interchangeable options compatible with the Keyless Solution. If you are unsure, please review the Hardware Options in the Keyless Overview.
IOX Keyless: Bluetooth and Remote Command Access
Standard access support is via Bluetooth and remote commands.

An optional starter inhibit relay for cases where a secondary bladed key is needed to start the vehicle. If installed, IOX Keyless will invoke this relay alongside unlocks and locks, enabling and disabling the ignition. Adding NFC Tap Card Access for IOX Keyless or IOX Keybox
In addition to the SKUs above, should the customer wish to add NFC tap card access, reference SKUs below. Note that any installation can support both Bluetooth and NFC Tap Card access.
