Learn more about the Keyless is Geotab’s Shared Mobility solution. There are a few components you need to know, so use this document to guide your MyAdmin purchases and quoting.

Introduction

Keyless is Geotab’s Shared Mobility solution. There are a few devices and components you need to know, so use this document to guide your MyAdmin purchases and quoting.

The focus of this reference is on the Keyless solution specific components. Additional standard components:

GO device (GO9 or newer): IOX Keyless or IOX Keybox connects into a GO via the IOX port.
T-harness: supports OBD port access by service personnel without disrupting Keyless.

✱ NOTE - T-harness: For both push-to-start and bladed key ignition installations, the T-harness is used to install the GO device away from the OBD port to reduce the risk of accidentally unplugging the device. The T-harness is also used to install another device into the OBD port without having to remove the GO9 device. The most common harness is the HRN-GS16K2-A; however, harness installation depends on the vehicle. See Geotab’s harness assessment cheat sheet.

Stellantis: Key fobs in the above form factor, found on recent (either 2022+ or 2024+) models manufactured by Stellantis.

The following are known make, model & years, however please use the image above as the guide as this list is not exhaustive and there may be variability based on manufacturing location:

Citroën: C3 2022+, C5, Berlingo/e-Berlingo 2024+

DS: 3 E-Tense 2023+
Fiat: 500e 2024+
Opel: Corsa 2023+
Peugeot: 208, 2008, 3008, 5008 2023+

*Toyota: Proace models 2024+ (*only Proace family models as this is a collaboration with Stellantis)

Two possible scenarios:

Locks are prevented: All lock attempts are prevented, which is as designed behavior from Stellantis as a key is detected as left inside the vehicle.
Sub optimal user experience: The first lock attempt will result in an automatic unlock, which is as designed behavior from Stellantis as a key is detected as left inside the vehicle. We have data indicating that a second subsequent lock attempt will succeed.

Geotab is investigating if we can resume support for these vehicles which exhibit this behavior.

Known Unsupported: IOX-Keyless(-NK)

! IMPORTANT: IOX-KEYLESS(-NK) is exclusively compatible with key fobs that receive a 3V input for power. The maximum voltage that the IOX-KEYLESS(-NK) printed circuit board can supply is 3V. We do not support pure bladed keys without fobs, a fob with lock and unlock buttons is required. With IOX-KEYLESS(-NK) we generally support all key fobs as the keyfob is technically soldered, however there may be a few exceptions. It is your responsibility to determine compatibility. The following table identifies vehicle makes and models that are known to have compatibility issues along with reasons why they are not supported.

Ford	F150	2013, 2014	Requires battery or similar metallic mass to be present in order to enable RF path.
Ford	Expedition	2016	Requires battery or similar metallic mass to be present in order to enable RF path.
Mercedes-Benz	Sprinter Cargo Van	2018	Key fob requires a higher voltage than 3V. Not supported by the Geotab Keyless printed circuit board.

Known Supported: IOX-Keybox

As with IOX-Keyless, we do not support pure bladed keys without fobs, a fob with lock and unlock buttons is required.

1. Only match the placement of the lock and unlock buttons, as well as the key fob shape. If your key fob has additional buttons to unlock or lock and/or those are placed differently, this doesn't matter to support.
2. Only key fobs provided by the OEM are supported.

IOX Keyless or IOX Keybox

Both are interchangeable options compatible with the Keyless Solution. If you are unsure, please review the Hardware Options in the Keyless Overview.

IOX Keyless: Bluetooth and Remote Command Access

Standard access support is via Bluetooth and remote commands.

HRN-CX10S4	An optional starter inhibit relay for cases where a secondary bladed key is needed to start the vehicle. If installed, IOX Keyless will invoke this relay alongside unlocks and locks, enabling and disabling the ignition. Not supported by IOX Keybox. Adding NFC Tap Card Access for IOX Keyless or IOX Keybox
