Material Management report

The Material Management report allows you to view and track your material usage on a per-trip basis.

Managing your material resources well allows you to reduce costs. The Material Management report provides the detailed data you need to track the material your fleet is using and identify areas where you can improve usage.

The report displays the following data:

  • Solid type

  • Solid total

  • Pre-wet total

  • Anti-ice total

  • Spread time

  • Plow time

  • Spread distance

  • Plow distance

The report also displays the asset that made the trip, its group and service group, and the start time, end time, total time and total distance associated with the trip. These metrics allow you to track the percentage of time and distance spent plowing or spreading for each trip.
Note: Users must have the View Material Management reports security clearance in order to access this feature.

Enabling rules for Material Management reports

There are six built-in Material Management rules that must be turned on in your database before you can run Material Management reports.
  1. Navigate to Groups & Rules > Rules in the main menu.
  2. Locate the Material Management section.
  3. Toggle all six rules to On.

Viewing the Material Management Report

Before you can run the Material Management report, you'll need to turn on the built-in material management rules.

  1. Navigate to Productivity > Public Works > Material Management in the main menu.
  2. Under Filters:
    1. Select a date range for your data.
    2. Choose to view the report by Trip.
    3. Select the assets you want to include in the report.
    4. Click Apply.
  3. View the report in the format of your choice:
    • To download the report, click the Report icon and select the format of your choice.
    • To prepare a PDF copy of the report for download, click the Report icon. Select the More actions menu for the format of your choice and click Prepare PDF.
    • To view the report directly in the application, click the Report icon. Select the More actions menu for the format of your choice and click View in browser.

Depending on the size of your report, it may take some time to generate. Navigate to Reports > My Reports to view its status.

Route-based Material Management Report

The route-based Material Management report lets you to track your material usage by service group, route group, and routes.

The route-based Material Management report differs from the standard report by organizing your data differently. It uses service groups, route groups, and routes instead of trips to provide a different view of how your fleet is using resources. This lets you customize your report based on your fleet's needs to find places you can reduce costs.
Note: Users must have the View route based material management rules in reprocess security clearance in order to access this feature.

Setting up rules for route-based Material Management reporting

Before you can obtain Material Management reporting data based on imported Route Completion service groups, you'll need to set up your built-in Material Management rules for the associated Route-based service groups.
  1. Navigate to Groups & Rules > Rules in the main menu.
  2. Locate the Material Management section.
  3. Toggle all rules to On.
  4. In the Route based services field of each rule, select the service group or groups you want to use with the rules.
  5. Click Save for each rule.

Before you can run the route-based Material Management report, you'll need to set up your material management rules to support route-based reporting.

  1. Navigate to Productivity > Public Works > Material Management in the main menu.
  2. Under Filters:
    1. Select a date range for your data.
    2. Choose to view the report by Route.
    3. Select the Service Groups you want to include in the report.
    4. Select the Route Groups or Routes you want to include in the report.
    5. Select the Assets you want to include in the report.
    6. Click Apply.
  3. View the report in the format of your choice:
    • To download the report, click the Report icon and select the format of your choice.
    • To prepare a PDF copy of the report for download, click the Report icon. Select the More actions menu for the format of your choice and click Prepare PDF.
    • To view the report directly in the application, click the Report icon. Select the More actions menu for the format of your choice and click View in browser.
