Zone types

Zone types allow you organize your zones according to their purpose or function.

MyGeotab has five built-in zone types:

  • Customer

  • Home

  • In-house Service Center

  • Office

  • Vendor Service Center

Zone types let you analyze how drivers and vehicles spend time at different locations, since their behavior can change based on the type of place they visit. If the default zone types don't meet your needs, you can create custom ones to fit your organization's purposes.

Adding zone types

Learn how to add custom zone types to further enhance your zone reporting.

  1. Navigate to Productivity > Zones > Zone Types in the main menu.
  2. Select + Zone type.
  3. Create a name for your custom zone type.
  4. Add comments about the zone type.
  5. Click Save.
Your new zone type will now be available to select when adding or editing zones.
