Using Geotab Data Connector with Tableau! Let's get started. In MyGeotab, open the Reports section and select Data Connector. Click the "Copy Access URL" button in the Get Started section of the Tableau tab. Further down the page, pick a template to start with and click its Download button. Locate the file in your Downloads folder, then click to open it. In Tableau, click the Data menu. Expand the first data source and select Edit Data Source. Update the Server to match the Access URL you copied from MyGeotab earlier. Make sure to keep the table identifier at the end of the URL! Enter your user name according to the following format: MyGeotab Database Name, forward slash, MyGeotab Username. For example, db123/demo user@example.com. Enter your MyGeotab password. Click sign in. After the connection summary loads, click any dashboard tab. Repeat the edit data source steps for each data source in your template. When finished, open the Data menu and click Refresh All Extracts. Click Refresh. Wait for each data source extract to refresh. Click Close when the refresh finishes.
