Hey Everybody, I'm trying to help an integrator out on this, and they seem to think that you can't pull exceptions from custom-built rules via the MyGeotab APIs. I haven't really worked with this part of the SDK much at all, so was hoping someone who uses this more could chime in on whether that is actually the case, or if we're just missing something here. Hey, Everybody! These are kind of basic questions, but I'm looking for some fairly technical answers that I haven't been able to find via the Knowledge Base or other online resources. What I'm specifically looking for here are two different things: 1) How does Geotab calculate distance for IFTA and HOS?I believe these are both calculated based off of engine measurements by default; what I'm looking for are specifics on how Geotab gathers this engine data. 2) How does Geotab calculate distances on the Map?My understanding is that this is gathered by GPS, which can differ from the engine measurements that we get for IFTA and HOS.  What I'm looking for here is info on how Geotab calculates these distances based off of the GPS. Not sure if I'm just missing where these articles are, or if this is info I've gotten over years of Support tickets, so any "official" documentation people can provide here would be of great help. Thanks in advance!  :) Best,Joy @FleetNavSystems-1081

Hey, Everybody! I'm working on building new logos for a couple of custom add-ins for when MyGeotab officially switches over to the new UI. I'm familiar with this document:New Designs Specifications for MyGeotab Add-In Icons I'm pretty decent with Photoshop and I have Adobe Illustrator for this project (although I'm a little bit of a n00b with the latter); I'm just not really sure how to get it so that my designs match the specs required here.  When I try to design at only 24 pixels, everything is fuzzy, even when I have it so that my design is snap-to-grid. So, anyway, I think I'm missing something here. Admittedly, I'm quite a bit of a newbie when it comes to logo-design stuff. Has anyone already built one of these?  If so, would you be able/willing to share how to take an existing .ai file and make it match the required specs? Hey Guys, I'm looking for some info on the new Bulk Edit add-in from Geotab.  I think this is a question for @Kaylan-1068​ or @mauriciomuniz-1734​, but wanted to put it up here on the Community in case anyone else can benefit from the answer in the future. I have been using this new add-in and ​there are a couple of labels that I would like to understand specifically. Could someone please explain what these mean? Also, I'm specifically looking to understand what the difference is between "Duplicate Data" and "Edits for assets with duplicate name..." "Edits for assets with duplicate names are not allowed. Hey Everybody, I have a customer with drivers who often mistype the gallons or cost when they input their fuel data.  This customer needs to ensure that these  logs are accurate, so they would like the ability to edit these incorrect logs. I know that Geotab is working on an admin-side edit feature in MyGeotab, but there currently isn't a release date for this. What I'm actually wondering is if--in the mean time--is there a piece of code that maybe Geotab can provide that would allow non-techy people to run a search via the API Runner to pull up a fuel log and edit outside of the UI. I'm thinking that if a user could search a fill-up by the transaction ID and then just input what the gallons and cost should have been, that would at least be an acceptable work-around for the time being. If you've ever dealt with this, or know of a way to get around this for now, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks in advance for your help!  :) Best,Joy @FleetNavSystems-1081

Hi Everybody, I have a customer wanting to pull data from the MyGeotab APIs. Hey Everybody, I called Geotab Support with a question on odometer values yesterday.  I have a customer that is getting the wrong values, and this may be due to a harness issue (we're looking into it). What I'm more curious to understand is about the two different ECMs that can be in engines with two data ports; specifically why would the second ECM would report an odometer value at all, especially if that value is incorrect? The support agent I spoke with yesterday mentioned that they get secondary odometer values sometimes when a GO unit has the wrong harness, and I can't for the life of me think of why there would be a secondary odometer value--especially if it's different from the primary one. If anyone here know about this and can help me to understand why this exists and what its purpose is, I'd certainly appreciate it. Thanks!  :) Best,Joy @FleetNavSystems-1081

With the 2001 update, it looks like Geotab set all of the local "Maximum personal conveyance distance per day" fields for each driver to 0.0 (unlimited) instead of whatever may have already been specified in the System Settings. What I am wondering is if this new field is available in the API Runner so that I could quickly update these values for several hundred drivers in one database, rather than having to go in and update each of these manually.  🤦‍♀️ Does anybody know if this is possible? Thanks very much. Best,Joy @FleetNavSystems-1081

You can change the user clearance of an employee by going to Administration &gt; Users &gt; [user to edit] and then scrolling down to the Security Clearance section of the page. Here are some common ones I can think of off the top of my head: <ul><li>The GO device is new and still getting configured; you might hear occasional beeps as it is adjusting for the first time.</li><li>Your admin has a login rule set so that you get beeps until you use an NFC reader or Geotab Drive to log in.</li><li>Your admin has some other rule set up to beep based on some metric, such as seatbelt.</li></ul> Here are the default items that your fleet manager may put on your truck:<img src="/forum/plugins/gcs-uploads/files/0692J00000KejrFQAR.png" alt="audio-feedback" /> Although those are the defaults, there are other ways to make just about anything cause the vehicle to beep. Since this is the case, it may help to identify the type of beeping.
