Managing inspection rules and exemptions! Let's get started. Managing multiple US drivers can be overwhelming. Use the compliance rules in MyGeotab to review driver behavior and manage inspection requirements more efficiently. Navigate to the Rules page in MyGeotab by either selecting Groups & Rules, then Rules, or searching for Rules in the menu. Scroll down to the Compliance section to find the related rules. Use the Pre-Trip Inspection Missing and Post-Trip Inspection Missing rules to help ensure drivers are completing asset inspections. Select On to enable the selected compliance rule. Select Turn on. Confirm carefully because enabling the rule applies it to all assets in your database. Enable the Post-Trip Inspection Missing rule as well to identify drivers who do not complete a post-trip asset inspection. These rules can notify administrators about missed inspections. Adjust the Grace period and Distance travelled conditions to control when a compliance exception is triggered. The Yard Move Exemption rule allows drivers to remain in the Yard Move special driving category through ignition cycles. It is colloquially known as the UPS exemption and is only for use in the USA. Configure the speed parameter to take drivers out of the yard move exemption and return them to Drive status if they go over the indicated speed. Configure the Yard zone parameter to return drivers to Drive status when they leave a zone designated as a Yard. Enable the Defect Recorded rule if administrators or the maintenance team need notifications about asset defects reported by drivers. Choose the Severity level for when a defect is reported by this rule. Select the envelope icon to open the notification settings. Add the desired notifications, such as real time emails or creating a Work Request for the asset. Save the rule and notification settings when you finish configuring them. Congratulations!
