* Data reporting varies. Refer to the Data Description section for more information.

1 Reported every 30 seconds.

2 Reported based on events.

3 Reported at ignition on or off events only.

4 Reported when charging status changes; every 15 mins for AC charging; every 5 mins for DC charging.

5 Reported only for BEVs. Energy signals and related reports are not available for PHEVs.

6 ADAS signals: If the vehicle is not capable, these signals are reported as inactive / disabled

NOTE: Electric Vehicle (EV) signals are available only on 2020 or newer models. Focus Electric is not supported.

Data Descriptions

Accident Event

An accident event is reported based on the following conditions:

  1. The reported acceleration exceeds 2.6G.
  2. Ford detects an accident via the vehicle sensors. In this case, the event is reported as Fault 166. This could be included as a trigger condition in the ‘Possible Collision’ rule to improve accuracy.
  3. Acceleration

An acceleration event is reported based on the following conditions:

  4. Forward acceleration (Hard Acceleration) — Reported every 30 seconds and also when acceleration remains above 0.41G (4 m/s^2) for 2 seconds
  5. Backward acceleration (Harsh Braking) — Reported every 30 seconds and also when acceleration remains below -0.31G (3 m/s^2) for 2 seconds
  6. Side to side acceleration (Harsh Cornering) — Reported every 30 seconds and also accompanied when harsh braking or acceleration event occurs

ABS Active Status

The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) active status is indicated as:

  1. 0 — The ABS system is inactive.
  2. 1 — The ABS system is active.
  3. Brake Pedal Status

The Brake Pedal status is indicated as:

  4. 0 — The Brake Pedal system is inactive.
  5. 1 — The Brake Pedal system is active.
  6. Gear Position

The gear position is indicated as:

  7. Negative numbers — The gear position is in reverse.
  8. Positive numbers — The gear position is in forward.
  9. 0 — The gear position in neutral.
  10. 126 — The gear position in park.
  11. 127 — The gear position in drive
  12. Reported on gear changes — Based on events.
  13. NOTE: This data point is available only on vehicles with automatic transmission.

    Engine Oil Temperature

This data point is available only on select vehicles fitted with an engine oil temperature sensor.

    Ignition Status

The ignition status is indicated as:

  14. 0 — The ignition is off.
  15. 1 — The ignition is on.
  16. Reported only when the ignition state changes — Based on events.
  17. Passenger Occupancy Status

The passenger occupancy status is indicated as:

  18. 0 — The passenger seat is unoccupied.
  19. 1 — The passenger seat is occupied.
  20. Road Speed

The road speed is reported every 30 seconds, and when the vehicle speed is greater than 137 km/h for 10 seconds or more.

    Seatbelt Status

The seatbelt status is reported every 30 seconds, and when the seatbelt is unbuckled when the vehicle has been moving at five km/h for three seconds. The seatbelt is indicated as:

  21. 0 — The seatbelt is buckled.
  22. 1 — The seatbelt is unbuckled.
  23. Traction Control Status

The traction control status is indicated as:

  24. 0 — The traction control is off.
  25. 1 — The traction control is on.

Total Fuel Used

The total fuel used is reported at the end of a trip, and calculated from the day the device was activated.

Total Engine Time / Total Engine Idle Time / Traction Control Status

The total engine and total engine idle time, and traction control status are reported during ignition on and off events for the following truck and commercial vehicle models:

  1. F-150, F-250, F-350, F-450
  2. F-550, F-650, F-750
